What’s New for the 2024 Volvo S60
The changes for the S60 are next to nil for the 2024 model year. They include some new exterior color selections and dark exterior details are now standard.
Design
The S60 has a muscular design, with an upright grille and “Thor’s Hammer” headlights. Trims for the S60 are Core, Plus, Black Edition, and Ultimate. The Core comes with 18-inch alloy wheels. The Ultimate trim comes equipped with 19-inch alloy wheels. As the name suggests, the Black Edition features black wheels, a black grille and emblem, and black exterior trim.
Powertrain
A turbocharged four-cylinder that operates in a mild-hybrid setup is standard. It makes a combined 247 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. Power is routed through an eight-speed automatic transmission to the front wheels or available all-wheel drive (AWD).
Fuel economy estimates for the front-wheel-drive (FWD) version are 26 mpg city, 35 mpg highway, and 30 mpg combined. Selecting AWD drops fuel economy to 25 mpg city, 33 mpg highway, and 28 mpg combined. The S60 requires premium fuel.
Volvo also offers the S60 Recharge plug-in hybrid, with 455 hp and 523 lb-ft of torque sent to all four wheels. This version offers up to 41 miles of EPA-rated electric range, and it can also do zero to 60 mph in 4.3 seconds.

Interior
The S60 features a handsome interior with a clean design. Standard equipment on the Core trim includes synthetic leather upholstery, power-adjustable front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a panoramic sunroof.
Stepping up to the Plus trim adds genuine leather upholstery, LED ambient cabin lighting, and a cabin air purifier.
The Ultimate trim features quad-zone automatic climate control, a wall-style power outlet, heated front seats, a seat extension cushion for the driver, and additional adjustments for both front seats. The S60 is also available with a crystal shift knob.
The S60’s trunk provides 11.6 cubic feet of cargo space, which is not stellar for the class.
Technology
A 9-inch vertically oriented touchscreen is the infotainment setup in the 2024 S60. It comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, but it has an otherwise frustrating user interface. Also standard are a digital instrument panel, USB-C ports, and a 10-speaker stereo. The S60 is available with either a 14-speaker Harman Kardon sound system or a 15-speaker Bowers & Wilkins stereo.
Safety
The 2024 S60 comes equipped with a wide array of driver-assistance technology. This includes forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, rain-sensing windshield wipers, traffic-sign recognition, driver-attention alert, lane-departure warning, rear parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
Stepping up to the Plus trim adds reverse automatic emergency braking, front parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, and a 360-degree parking camera system. The Ultimate trim adds a head-up display.

Pricing and Release Date
At the time of this writing, the 2024 Volvo S60 has a base MSRP of $43,645 for the Core trim. The Plus trim starts at $46,595, and the Black Edition starts at $48,745. The range-topping Ultimate starts at $51,495. The Volvo S60 is backed by a four-year/50,000-mile limited warranty, and it can be found in dealers now.
