2019 Tesla Model S Overview

For 2019, the Model S sees changes to its trim structure. There is a Model S Performance, which gets more output from its electric motors, and a Long Range.

Every Tesla Model S comes with all-wheel drive (AWD) with one electric motor powering the front wheels and one powering the rear. The Long Range manages up to 335 miles of range, while the Performance gets 315 miles. A Model S Performance will go from 0-60 mph in 2.4 seconds and the Long Range will do it in 4.1 seconds.

Both trims offer 30 cubic feet of cargo space and a massive 17-inch display. Tech includes Bluetooth, voice-activated controls, and navigation. The inside can be had with things like wood trim for the dashboard, front and back heated seats, a heated steering wheel, and an in-cabin air-filtration system. Standard wheels are 19 inches, but 21-inch wheels are available.

The Model S has sharp handling thanks to the low center of gravity inherent in an EV. The Enhanced Autopilot system, which uses cameras, sensors, and computers to allow semi-autonomous driving in certain situations, is available as an option.

While other luxury electric vehicles like the Porsche Taycan are about to enter the market, they may not be able to compete with Tesla's speed.
