It’s a nice looking car , but it’s has a bad reputation with its transmission. CVT transmission on Nissan SUV are terrible. That’s the only reason I don’t want to buy this car.

This model came with more features than I was looking for. I was coming from a 2006 Mitsubishi Endeavor which I loved and would have bought a new one if they were still making them. But luckily I was able to pass this on to my son. Initially I was looking for a 2010-2015 Chevrolet Tahoe, Buick Enclave or Nissan Frontier but in the end I think I found a great buy and made a great choice.

Great Dance Mom//soccer Dad Vehicle — We were looking at Infiniti Q-model and I convinced my wife that the Pathfinder is the same vehicle for $10k less. She finally agreed once sitting in the Pathfinder and agreed. She loves the high sitting position and view. Fit and finish are good, leather is of good initial quality. The vehicle is nothing like previous Pathfinders, being more vehicle like than truck like. Traveling over 100 miles a day for commute is a bit hard on fuel cost at an average of approx 22-24 mpg, but the extra space comes in handy during weekend trips around the state for soccer tournaments and dance competitions.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: seating position high, fit and finish good, $10K less than Infiniti model, drives like a big car

Cons: drives like a big car, turning radius not tight enough to make u turns easy, gas mileage fair

A Nice Alternative To The Dreaded Minivan. — The 2014 Nissan Pathfinder Platinum 4WD is a great looking SUV with lots of bells and whistles. The seven passenger seating is critical for families and it works really well in this vehicle. It drives nice enough, but is not nearly refined as some of its rivals. The seats are not nearly as comfortable as I had hoped for and the fuel economy has been disappointing. It certainly isn't a bad car by any stretch, but with an MSRP north of $45K, I expected more.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Modern styling.  Has all the capabilities of a minivan without looking like one.  It has both heated AND cooled seats which is great during the summer.  The panoramic moonroof is also quite nice and makes the cabin feel airy and bright.  I use the shift on the fly 4WD knob all the time and it works perfectly.

Cons: Front seats are terribly uncomfortable to me.  The lumbar support hits my back too high and there is no support for the lower back.  I have also been disappointed with the fuel economy.  I am averaging only 18.5 MPG over 5k miles (mostly highway).

Biggest piece of crap. Two transmissions put in, leaks from everywhere, burning oil smell, bogs down when less than half a tank of gas.
