Fully loaded super comfy. The diesel torque throws you back in the seat. I would not pass one of these up the 32mpg is a definite must to have

When I picked the 5.7l V8 for this Jeep I felt guilty. But my wife said: maybe this is the last time that you will be able to drive such a gas-guzzling dinosaur. So I did it. Unfortunately, I was not impressed. My Jaguar XK8 with the 4.2l V8 was running like a turbine- and used less gas. This V8 is unrefined. The car overall is nice. Not without flaws, especially in the electronic system (suddenly the whole dashboard went dead, sometimes erratic function of the screen or blackout- which means you cant control anything, especially no air con anymore. Annoying. The navigation system painfully dated and cumbersome. The 8-speed transmission worked flawless.)

Value Ranked 2010 Volvo XC60 better.
"Volvo really has the comfort and safety of the passenger in mind. You can see, feel, and experience this every day. If you are important to yourself, this is the better choice. If you are more interested in what others think- pick the Jeep."
Would Buy Ranked 2010 Volvo XC60 better.
"Smaller, more agile, less clumsy and pompous, but basically the same size inside. Just a cooler, more urban, modern car."

An Awesome Suv — Gas mileage, transmission shifts are smooth as silk. Love the interior styling and exterior styling as well. No problems, really, other than intermittent blue smoke on startup seems to be due to faulty pcv valve. I love this vehicle, it is amazing in the snow (4 wheel drive with Blizzak snow tires on during winter). Handling is incredible, this is one superb vehicle. Extremely comfortable, no blind spots (I have the backup camera). Very fair maintenance costs, 46,000 km (28,000 miles) as at Oct 2, 2015. I would buy this again, in a heartbeat.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Fantastic SUV, I love it, would buy it again. Great gas mileage, good power, note that this is a 3.6 liter V6, with 8 spd automatic.

Cons: Fairly expensive, but I bought a demonstrator, so the price was much more reasonable.

Affordable Quality — A great looking SUV that meets or exceeds my expectations. The Jeep Grand Cherokee has been in a constant state of change since it was first designed. The latest body style and trim packages have a lot of bang for the buck, and the reliability and fuel economy of the 3.6L Pentastar engine bring the Grand Cherokee a place in the daily commute as well as the family road trip.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Body, Fuel Economy, Cargo Space

Cons: Would love a V-8 with >25 MPG

Exceeded My Expectations —

The need familywise to move up in size from a 8 cylinder BMW sedan to a mid-size SUV was a difficult one to say the least. That said other than a few minor quibbles the Jeep Overland has exceeded my expectations. First it is a good looking vehicle and sleek for an SUV. It has all of the luxuries that we have had in other SUVs (Range Rover, Sequoia Platinum, ext.) plus a few extra that just come with the times. It is fun to drive although sport mode doesn't rival a V8 BMW in "Fun" factor it does more than I thought it would, such as using the air suspension to stiffen the ride and tighten the steering. It fully leverages the 8 speed transmission and cycles through the gears quickly with smooth precision. Overall, I am very happy with this car and would highly recommend it to some one who has two young kids in Hockey and need to transition to an SUV. Now for the quibbles: The electronic shifter is awful. Just because the technology is available doesn't mean that you have to use it. Ask Mercedes and their terrible shifter ideas. Other than that the only other issue I have is that I wish they kept the back glass access option. That is such a great feature when you are trying to get every last bit of space out of the trunk area.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Look, ride, power, technology, luxury

Cons: Shifter, Shifter, Shifter, back window access would have been nice especially when you have something in tow and can't access the rear through tailgate.

Highly Recommend — Buying this vehicle brand new is not cheap. The sticker was knocking on 50,000. The entirely new design only takes you one drive behind the wheel and you get it. I was overly impressed with the options that are available.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Vehicle is LOADED and Rides as good as any Lexus or Mercedes I've owned

Cons: Tecnology Screen has so much - it can be convoluted at first

Love The Car — Not a fan of high gas mileage as I've driven econoboxes my whole life. But this one isn't too bad in that regard. Average 17-19 miles/gallon. I think that the car is gorgeous and a big step up in the looks department for Chrysler. Good going Fiat! :)

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Drivability, looks, capacity

Cons: gas mileage

Good Car — It was a v6 and had good power going up the hills. It was reasonably good on gas for an suv. It looked and handled comfortably. Some small things did not always work like they should. It was reasonably dependable.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Good looking car decent in snow good power

Cons: Key had a problem some times the car would start and not be able to shift into drive?
