Best Vehicle I Have Ever Owned — The Ford Explorer is the best vehicle I have ever owned . I like to buy american also looked at the Lincoln MKX which was noisy in comparison . I believe Lincoln has become an over priced Ford . Go with the Explorer if you are looking for an SUV

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: everything

Cons: nothing

Great Suv Probably Best In Its Class/size — This SUV was very nice! It felt as nice as some Range Rovers my friends own that are only 5 years old. On that alone I believe this SUV is a great value and worth considering as a buy. I'm not a fan of Ford but they have been making great looking cars lately - I hope they keep up the good work. I find it hard to top this Ford Explorer and look forward to what they release next.

Pros: 3rd Row Seats, nice interior, lots of off-road features/aids

Cons: Nothing

Luxury Suv In Unassuming Package —

This car was a MUST have from second we discovered it. WE were TOLD It was not available in RED. ONLY white, black or silver. WE were not the average bear shopper. We put in a search for a RED one on cargurus.com and found the ONLY one available on a dealer lot for sale ! IT was within 100 miles of us! IT was then transferred from Carlsbad to Buena Park, CA but we FOUND her and the salesman, Demetrius pocketed the keys until we got there in TWO hours! WE love our vehicle. IT seats 7. Has remote start for when we are in our Crestline Cabin. WE can get in a WARM car, or a cool car, when we are in Palm Springs. WE can take everyone to the ZOO or to visit family member in the hospital ALL in ONE vehicle! It has 4x4 for when it snows, as we are ALWAYS up in Crestline at the vacation cabin or the rental we have up there! IT has the moon roof over the rear passengers and the sun roof (opens up) over the front passengers. The ambient lighting changes color, depending on what we FEEL like that night. The ride is like a DREAM as it sails over the highway. The AC is everywhere..the stereo ( SONY) is awesome, the VOICE activated navigation ( they have a CLASS to teach u how to use it) is a blessing, as we can pay attention to the ROAD and not the AC and stereo/ or phone settings. IT lets you know when you are getting to close to items, when there are cars stopping in front of you, things behind you with its sophisticated cameras and sensors. WE bought ext warranty and maintenance so we don't have to think about "where to take it" or worry it won't be "covered". WE LOVE our Explorer Sport, and we are NOT "Ford People" as a rule!

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: This 4x4 SPORT with twin turbo V6 engine has the POWER, the room (seats 7) and the looks! It has every luxury option available. Remote start, cooled and heated leather seats, SUN and moon roof. 4x4. Tow package. Ambient lighting that you can change to whatever color you are "feeling" that night! VOICE navigation so you don't have to divert your attention from driving to turn ON or UP air, find an address, find a place, etc.

Cons: It does NOT get 40  MPG.

Good Quality And Price Point — Car is too new to judge reliability but happy with it overall thus far. At this price point you would think seat memory would be standard but not. I take small features like that for granted since I have been away from domestics for a while. My biggest push for going to Ford was the fact that they manages their way through with out government dollars! No more GM's or Dodges for me! Way to go FORD, :)

Pros: Ford did a really good job with the new Explorer. Nice amenities with great style.

Cons: The front wheel drive V-6 is just OK on power and has a bit of rough idle to it but drives very smoothly with good gas maileage.

Top Of The Line — After driving the new Ford Explorer sport for the first time about six months ago, it has to be the best SUV on the market. The performance of the 3.5L twin turbo 365 HP engine is second to none. The cab is nicely appointed, very comfortable and outside sound is minimal. The styling is low and lean and with the all black grill the overall appeal is outstanding. At 16MPG city, the gas mileage could be improved a bit, but you have to give up MPG for that kind of HP. This SUV is great to drive as you feel sturdy and solid in it, yet the nimble steering and responsive suspension make you feel in complete control. It will get wherever you want to go as fast as you want to go there, but keeps you in control and can also get you out of any situation needed.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Sport model has great looks and power.

Cons: Gas mileage could be a bit better

Great car stay away from 2013s, lots of recalls. Drives more like a truck, good looking and feeling car for those parents that want to maintain the cargo capacity of a minivan without the look. Get that telescoping wheel if youre short like me. Its a nice feature.

"Roomier, husband 64 and 250 lbs. He was comfortable both as passenger and driver."
Would Buy Ranked 2015 Chevrolet Traverse 1LT AWD worse.
"Ive owned 2 Ford Windstars, both quality vehicles with substantial feel on the road, which I like. As a result it is difficult for me to adjust to a lighter weight car that doesnt feel substantial in handling, the Explorer has that presence that I like. PLUS KIDS ARE GROWN AND I DONT NEED A MOM CAR ANYMORE! The Traverse just slides a little too much into the minivan look for me, but that is just preference. I will say if I had little ones I would go with the Traverse. "
