The Ultimate Snowboarding Assault Vehicle — What's the point of getting an SUV with 5-seats? That's just an oversized car that eats up more gas. That's why I got the Explorer. It has 7-seats and luxuriously appointed with a great tech convenience package. I have every bell and whistler Ford offers, so this rig beat out the QX60 and the GL450, and a few thousand cheaper.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Everything one could want out of an SUV

Cons: There's a bit of road noise at high speeds, so just pump the music louder.

Feels Good, Looks Good. — Like the appearance and performance. Smooth riding SUV with all the luxuries. The air conditioning is very cold, the heat is very warm. All power features have always worked with no problems whatsoever. This SUV has always performed well and felt safe to drive.

    Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Beautifull stylish SUV, well maintained.  Handles great, smooth ride, luxurious.  Can tow a good size load.  No maintenance problems.

    Cons: Mileage per gallon.

Solid Family Car, Vary Happy With It For The Most Part. — I wish I had opted for the Limited, memory seats and the intelligent cruise control would have been great features but were not options in the XLT. The interior is pretty roomy for a midsized SUV, but if you need to use the third row you loose all your luggage space, I had to buy a tow along for trips.

    Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: The ride is very smooth, and seats are comfortable. Been on many road trip of 12 plus hours with it already and it makes for an enjoyable drive.

Cons: Low end power is lacking, cruises just fine but I really have to step on the gas to get it up to speed. The Ford SYNC system, when it works it is great unfortunately that is rare.

First Ford, So Far So Good. — I've only had the SUV for 24 hours, so only time will tell. I will keep posting updates with my impression of this vehicle as I drive and use more of it's expansive features. Just wondering if I need the extended warranty.

    Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Great Style, awesome features, love the MyFordTouch.

Cons: Unknown, only had it for 24 hours

The Ford Explorer has way more class and prestige as the other "comparable" (at best) makes and models. The GMC and Chevy equivalent felt boxy, handles like a boat, and had a lot of road noise. The explorer handles like a car, hugging corners and very little body flex. I could not be happier with my explorer!
