2011 Mazda RX-8Review
MABTAG writes:
The car price is too much, it should be around 3000 or 3500 dollars. If any buys it he /she have to spend 3000 dollars more on it as this model(to make it runs smooth) comes with rotary engine which need maintenance after 10,000 miles. Also the parts of RX-8 are also not cheaper. Moreover, the person who is a good mechanic and have good cash should buy it ,as his/her labor cost would be then be zero. Due to maintenance issue, cost issue and poor quality parts used in interior of this car , by these reasons it was discontinued to make in 2012. Although, people would preferred to buy nissan 350z or honda cr-z as these cars are reliable and have parts which can be available in much cheaper prices than the RX-8.Moreover, the modification of these cars are also less expensive. And if you are thinking to buy RX-8 for drifting so is it good that you drift on the track and after it you again have to spends more than 2000 dollars on the car . So it is not worth it. Plus, I would recommend if you can but ford mustang in the above price given by the seller it would be best . |

2011 Mazda RX-8 R3 Review
Matthew says:
The RX-8 is more of a drivers car than most others. Its light weight and nimble handling make it one of the most involving drives around, without the major sacrifices of a Miata or S2000. Sure, the V6 Accord or Camry can probably beat it off the line, but it will be hard to find a more rewarding drive with a car as capable. vs2011 Dodge Challenger R/T RWD
2011 Mazda RX-8 R3 winning categories:
Power
Ranked 2011 Dodge Challenger R/T RWD better.
"Weight:power ratio of Challenger is 10.7 lbs/hp; weight:power ratio of RX-8 is 12.6 lbs/hp. Youll feel the difference."
Handling
Ranked 2011 Dodge Challenger R/T RWD worse.
"RX-8 has much more direct steering and is much lighter and nimbler. The RX-8 does roll a bit in corners, but only enough to give you feedback. The Challenger handles well for what it is, but it is a much heavier and slower-reacting vehicle with a lot more body roll and vaguer steering."
Looks/Style
Ranked 2011 Dodge Challenger R/T RWD worse.
"Totally subjective, but I think the RX-8 looks more unique than the Challenger. The Challenger is sharp and has a classic beauty to it, but theyre everywhere and share so much styling with the other retro cars, which makes it a little less special."
Front Seats
Ranked 2011 Dodge Challenger R/T RWD worse.
"If youre of modest frame, the Recaros hold you nicely in the corners. You sit within the Recaros, whereas you sit on the Challengers seats."
Back Seats
Ranked 2011 Dodge Challenger R/T RWD better.
"Challenger has deeper back sits and more legroom, since the vehicle is so much larger. RX-8 back seats are fine for adults for short trips and if the front seat isnt all the way back. "
Cargo Capacity
Ranked 2011 Dodge Challenger R/T RWD better.
"Larger cargo volume in the challenger; larger trunk opening in the challenger; rear seat folds down in the challenger to make a lot of space."
Family Car
Ranked 2011 Dodge Challenger R/T RWD better.
"Larger passenger volume in the Challenger; larger cargo volume in the challenger; larger trunk opening in the challenger; rear seat folds down in the challenger to make a lot of space."
Value
Ranked 2011 Dodge Challenger R/T RWD better.
"The RX-8 has very high running costs. It consumes oil (by design), takes premium fuel, and OEM parts are fairly pricey. The double-wishbone and multilink suspension are top-notch, but when ball-joints go back, theyre very expensive to replace, being aluminum wishbones and 5-part multilinks on each side. Challenger is built to a lower budget, suspension-wise, so part replacement is much cheaper. Also uses an old, mass-produced chassis from 90s Daimler, resulting in many parts available for cheap, whereas RX-8 is built on a dedicated chassis (okay, shared with Miata)."
Would Buy
Ranked 2011 Dodge Challenger R/T RWD worse.
"Its all down to personal taste. I prefer a more involving driver in my day-to-day. The RX-8 keeps you much more active and is more fun and rewarding. The Challenger is more comfortable for long-distances, and is larger, heavier, quieter. RX-8 is a little more raw and brash. I would buy the RX-8 personally, but I would recommend the Challenger to my parents." |
