Good Cuv Station Wagon. — A great vacation car for 4 people. Gas mileage with the v6 is lower than you would expect. Maybe 20 mpg highway on average. One of the best interriors in the segment and the largest sunroof available in any car.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Very good family car. Good ride and comfort for this size vehicle.

Cons: V6 is underpowered better to get the V8.

The Best Full Size Suv You Can Buy. — The Cadillac SRX is one of the safest and most reliable cars on the road. It handles like a sports sedan yet has great room for family trips and towing lighter loads such as snowmobiles trailers, etc. I have owned three SRX's and never had a single mechanical issue with any of them. The AWD is bullet proof. It's the only SUV that doesn't look like every other SUV on the road.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros: The Cadillac SRX is one of the safest and most reliable cars on the road.

Cons: Practically none.  I'd like the fuel economy to be a little bit better.  But with the 3.5L V6 and AWD, the SRX has the best fuel economy in class for the features it offers.

Awsome — Since 2004, I have always wanted to own a Cadillac SRX. I waited for the 2010 introduction and was disappointed with it's small size. I have been looking for a 2009 with all of the toys and finally found one at Less Standford Cadillac. I am retired and hope to really enjoy this excellant vehicle. Having had the SRX for almost a month. I am very satisfied. It is more then I expected, performance, quality and appearance is top notch.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: A Drivers Vechicle

Cons: none

Excellent Balance Between Style And Practicality — My wife uses this as her company car, as she needs to carry her clients in comfort and style, while also having the flexibility to move large items around town. The car is just the right size and does both jobs really well. When we take the occasional road trip in it, I love the comfort, the power of that big V8 and the AWD, which makes a huge difference in its handling. The gas mileage is terrible around town, but that's partly because of the way it's driven. On the road mileage isn't great but acceptable. We bought this one slightly used, because we found the current SRX too small and underpowered for our needs. Fit and finish is very good but things do break every now and then, so an extended warranty is a must, and it really helps to have a dealer nearby that provides great service - which we do.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros: Handles surprisingly well for a car this size, looks great, excellent power, super comfortable inside

Cons: Terrible gas mileage off the highway, things break occasionally

2009 Cadillac SRX V8 AWD Review
GuruDSRDJ says:
Smaller than an Extended Escalade and Lincoln Navigator perfect for five adults and two children up to 13 years old or so. Fully loaded with people it has enough storage inside for a good day trip and is the most comfortable car I have ever driven. I own two and have had three. Am looking for another. The 279 cu.in. V8 is awesome. Equal to my 327, 62 & 66 Corvettes. I get 19 combined MPG, my Wife gets 15. AWD, all options, Pulls a 4,500 lb. trailer with ease but can be very expensive to service any part of the car. In 60 years of driving I have owned every American car and a few Japanese cars. Easier to wash and detail than a standard SUV. SRX is the best. High Octane 91+. High ground clearance for off-road, snow or mud. 275/20/45s all 4 tires. FAST!!

Power Ranked 2009 Lincoln MKX AWD worse.
"279 cu. in. V8, with a chip is 370 hp. Fast, economical and solid. 19 to 24 mpg, 91+ octane. My trailer is 5,500 lbs. Pulls great. Handles fantastic. 13 to 16 mpg with trailer."
Handling Ranked 2009 Lincoln MKX AWD worse.
"Like a sports car. All independent suspension, limited slip, traction control, stability control, electronic brake-force, 6 speed auto/manual with overdrive. Very fast and sure footed but watch out for any ice, please."
Handling Ranked 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe 1LT 4WD worse.
"The SRX, 279 cu.in. is stronger, more powerful with more torque and faster than the Tahoe 350 cu. in. motor. SRX has the Corvette style suspension Vs the Tahoe live axle design is more flexible, better ride, more sure footed, comfortable and quiet. 6 speed auto or manual shift, limited slip, traction & stability control, electronic brake force and ABS = NO COMPARISON. "
Looks/Style Ranked 2009 Lincoln MKX AWD worse.
"The SRX looks classic."
Looks/Style Ranked 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe 1LT 4WD worse.
"The SRX with 3 seats Vs the Tahoe 3 seats is smaller, more compact and a bit less day trip storage when all seats are filled but the SRX has a more streamlined and luxurious look to it and is much more comfortable. "
Front Seats Ranked 2009 Lincoln MKX AWD worse.
"Comfort, looks, feel, contour and 8-way controls."
Back Seats Ranked 2009 Lincoln MKX AWD worse.
"More room than any other except the Escalade. Adjustable. Super comfortable. Fold almost flat."
Cargo Capacity Ranked 2009 Lincoln MKX AWD worse.
"This depends on how well organized at loading you are. I use my SRX for my construction truck and tools."
Family Car Ranked 2009 Lincoln MKX AWD worse.
"Lower overall height, more ground clearance, (3) rows of seats (3rd row for tiny grown-ups or (2) smaller children. 3rd row is fun for the kids. Super comfort with every option."
Value Ranked 2009 Lincoln MKX AWD worse.
"Every feature but get all options possible, wait for the right SRX to come along, the correct color, be patient, the correct price, shop, shop, shop and then pounce on the right one."
Would Buy Ranked 2009 Lincoln MKX AWD worse.
"Awesome, Awesome and Awesome."
