An upsacle mid-sized luxry sedan from Lexus? Shocking. The 2008 Lexus GS 350 receives some minor styling tweaks after a refresh last year. The rear-wheel drive sports sedan extends its grille, adds a steeper slope to its C pillar, revises the front bumpers, and dresses the interior gauges in aluminum. Turn signals have been added to the power-folding side mirrors for 2008.
A 3.5-liter DOHC V6 engine delivers 303-hp and 274 ft-lbs of torque at 3600 RPM. It is matched to a 6-speed shiftable automatic. An all-wheel drive version defaults torque 30/70 front to back, but can shift to 50/50 when road conditions demand more traction. Dual front-side and side curtain airbags for both rows are standard, along with ABS brakes, traction and stability control, xenon headlights, foglights, and 17-inch alloy wheels. Optional Parking Assist helps in parallel parking, and an easy-to-use voice-activated navigation system bundled with a rearview camera earns rave reviews from owners.
Competing with the Acura RL and Mercedes-Benz E series, the 2008 GS 350 is fully appointed with 10-way power heated front seats, leather upholstery, wood trim, a 6-CD/MP3 player, keyless ignition, wheel-mounted audio and cruise controls, and memory settings for three drivers. The sedan seats five, with a pass-through to the 12.7 cubic foot trunk. Quality materials and high-end comfort are distinguishing features of the 2008 GS 350, and drivers appreciate the sporty handling, quiet ride, and bevy of luxury features. Complaints mention a small trunk opening, a short driver's seat, the need for larger tires, and the poor location for the folding mirror switch.

Lexus has always been ahead of its time, such is true with this GS 350 from 08. I like to call it a sleeper, from the outside it looks like a regular sedan. The 2008-2011 GS460 is not just a car its a fine tune Japanese automobile that never got the accolade it truly deserved. There were only 1600 built in four years thats why most people never knew they existed unlike the 430 most people have seen them everywhere. Seeing a 460 on the road is like seeing a unicorn you just never see one and if you do its not in the greatest condition. They are well tuned smooth & quiet and comfortable. Most benz enthusiasts eventually had to admit the brand Lexus is synonymous to the highest quality when it comes to craftsmanship. The mercedes benz E class doesnt even comes close... the 460 can be tuned to an additional 17-40 horsepower by tune-by-Loi. Aug 06, 2024

Best value in the market place for the money. Great performance, handling and good overall mileage. Unique styling and many advanced features that are applicable to current day vehicles. My car was t-boned and this car saved my life! I am lucky to be alive today. There is no better buy for your money. Style, performance,regular gas, very limited production, Quality in and out! Of the car was in a accident and you can tell because the bumper was not clips were not put back together correctly...

nice car to have, but make sure you check the front ends. I had bought one from World Wide Auto in Auburn, Wa. Every time I press the breaks, the car pulls quickly to the left, I took it back, the dealer put it in the shop to have a front end alignment work done on it, the Mechanics made all the necessary adjustments to solve the problem, but that did not stop the car from pulling to the left when coming to a stop.Dec 04, 2020

good car overall, luxury with sport and tech
best part is its Adaptive Cruise control, dont have to accelerate and put breaks ;)
bad part, its adaptive cruise control doesnt work if speed below 50 :(

I have 90,000 miles and have just needed to change the brake pads. That's how it's gone with this auto. No trips back to the service dept except for regular maint. Excellent to drive and gets over 26 mpg combined from day one. The Mark Levison sound system is outstanding. Nav works well. Long trip mpg is over 30 when using 100% gas. Some reviewers think the ride is a little rough but you forget that when handling comes into play. This sedan handles like a sports car. I don't think you could spend your money better.Sep 17, 2011

My trunk will not automatically shut anymore
2008 GS 350 Lexus: my trunk will no longer shut automatically ( kids would slam it). The dash flashes that my trunk is not shut when in fact it is. The trunk release button in the cab nor the remote will operate the trunk anymore. I have to manually unlock it. Can this be reset or do I need to take it to dealership for fixing?
