This is the most fun car I have ever driven. Period. Lots of mods already done with plenty more on the way, but the turbo AWD platform is just such a great starting point. I will buy another Subaru in the future.Apr 26, 2012

Stock this vehicle definitely proves itself in the performance category. It's quick to accelerate and fun to drive. Handles well. My car is a 2007 and hasn't needed any repairs yet, though it does have a rattle coming from underneath it, perhaps the heat shield is just coming loose? My WRX is a second generation 'hawkeye' versus the earlier year designs lovingly called 'bugeyes' and 'blobeyes'. I favor mine the most. It's overall looks are very appealing to Subaru lovers. This car is definitely fun to drive and if you were to buy the WRX TR model, the cheapest WRX trim, you are getting the most bang for your buck without going for the more expensive, STI. Feb 01, 2012

Performance is above average. Ive never been stranded by this car.
Styling is great, always gets the right kind of attention. Cost of
ownership has been very low, no unexpected repairs or
maintenance. The cabin is a little loud on the highway and over the
years a couple rattles in the dash have developed, but with creative
use of weather stripping the rattles can stop.
All in all, this is such a fun car to drive. In fact, this is my second WRX
that ive owned. the first was a 2003 with almost the same
modifications. After i sold that one to buy a 2000 S4, i had to have
my subaru back. Such a great car with an awesome community for

Only thing i hate about my car is that once you add more power... the transmission can't hold up... time to upgrade... Since mine is the WRX Limited it comes with heated leather seats, A/C, Sun roof, Power everything, 6 Disc in dash CD changer, and cruise. For a turbo car yeah gas is expensive( Premium) but it still gets around 25MPG even with my Mods i have done. Which are- Bigger intercooler, full catless racing exhaust, and the ECU has been tuned to run 18lbs of boost instead of stock 14lbs, it has flat black 17X8 O.Z. 0-60 is great for the price (5.6) braking is great also ( 4 pot brakes front/ 2 pot brakes rear). AWD makes the car feel planted and drives like a go-kart. Very fun car, very responsive to modifications.

It paid for itself last winter. Perfect donuts are too much fun. 18.5 lbs of boost with about 238 horsepower to the wheels. Expensive but totally worth it.
The exhaust note is unbelieveable, as close to a racecar as you can get. Everybody should buy a Subaru WRX at some point in their life. Oct 07, 2008

Great car, quality built with nice interior and trim, very practical with a great sound system and a very nice security system to match. The performance is amazing the AWD system works wonders, launching the car even in the wet is great fun! the car itself costs about $35,000. I'm looking at buying a wrx, but it has about 22,000 dollars into it, it has a little less than 60,000 original miles, and the modifications only include a bunch of stuff, but has stock block, so pistons and all that hasn't been touched, but at 46,000 miles it had a tune for 18lbs of boost, it was pushing like 360hp, and 22lbs for 400hp, now is that rough on a stock 2007 wrx engine? Also has jdm 6speed

Impreza wrx overheating
Had my 2007 wrx overheated last night while the car was parked and engine was running. It was 3/4 the temp gauge. I put water on the radiator and then it cooled down. Drove it for 15kms and the gauge was perfectly fine. I noticed the fans were running even the temp was below 1/2. Could anyone tell me what caused the overheating and why does the fans run when it is cold ? Can anyone help ? Plesse

Head Gasket Replacement
Hi Guys. My 2006/2007 Subaru WRX had brown sludge in the coolant. I recently brought the car and never checked. Iv done the flush and put 50/50 coolant/distilled water. I'm not loosing coolant but I took it for a block test to check if my gasket was blown. Anyways it is blown. Just wanted to know if should upgrade my gasket to a stronger one(cosworth gasket?)? And while the engine is open should I replace my pistons with forged pistons so that I never run into the ring land failure problem? My car is completely stock . Just want to make my WRX last as long as possible and be as reliable as it can be. The only mod I'm looking at doing is replacing the stock down pipe with a Invidia down pipe? Any suggestions???
