what causes the key to get stuck in the ignition and how can I get it out
went to a friends house it started up fine but when I got to her house the key would not come out

The 5-door Saab 9-5 SportCombi is made to carry cargo. With its ample rear space and practical load-tying features, such as the rear anchorage loops, it handles the transport of goods as well as any super-sized SUV.
Of course, it's also made to carry people, and that's what the comfy leather seats and full array of safety features are for. Saab's Load Shift protection comes between the two, keeping items in the cargo space from entering the passenger compartment in a frontal collision.
One of the best things about this "executive car" is that its 2.3-liter, turbocharged 4-cylinder turbocharged engine runs on regular-octane gasoline, achieving 260-horsepower and fuel efficiency of 20 mpg city and 30 on the highway. The car has a wide stance but a sleek profile with a jetlike windshield, giving it aerodynamic efficiency.
Safety takes a front seat too, with the car's very design working to keep occupants safe. The innovative Pendulum B-Pillar protects in side-impact collisions by sending impact energy into floor and roof structure, away from the people inside. Saab chose not to patent this innovation because it wanted to leave it free for other car makers to use to protect passengers.
Other safety-related features include ABS with electronic brake-force distribution, traction control, electronic stability control, active head restraints, adaptive driver and front-passenger air bags, and torso side air bags that are cleverly mounted to the seat back so that they go where the passenger goes if the seat is reclined.

Purchased my '06 9-5 SportCombi about 6 months ago for about 1/2 the original price. It was a one-owner car with only 36,000 miles. All the bells & whistles including nav for less than $20k ... and that was with Saab's industry leading CPO (Certified Pre-Owned) 7 year / 100,000 mi warranty. I gave the car 4 stars for appearance & quality only because I believe that a BMW wagon might have an edge over the Saab in this area. Even though the Saab looks good both in and out, it uses quite a bit of interior plastic and I'm still not sure I like the silver trim around the headlights. The performance of the Saab 2.3 liter turbo is fantastic! Put the car in "Sport" mode and it really takes off. Somehow Saab squeezes 260hp out of a 4 cylinder engine. I have the "Sport" package with firmer suspension and it corners like it's on rails. However, you do feel quite a bit of the road. Saab's have a very high depreciation which doesn't make them a very good choice for a *new* car. However, you can find incredible deals on *used* models. You literally pay 1/2 the MSRP for a car that is only a couple of years old. There's no way you can get a BMW wagon for anywhere near the price of a slightly used Saab.Apr 26, 2010

Appearace: ordinary, rims are fine though 17inch aero

It's like a comfy saloon rocket on wheels. Loads of cargo space and nice interior trimming. Gotta love that turbo-boost, and when you compare the mileage with the power - the car is simply outstanding.. How ever, for those who don't need that everyday performance, the consumption could be a bit smaller on the low-range engines. Mar 02, 2009

This car has been sick, it is very quick and feels alike a lot more than the 200 hp it is claimed to have. It has been fairly cheap to maintain, with the first problem being a recent failed transmission at 76000 miles. It also has tons of room for people and stuff.Sep 11, 2008

Sport car performance, space and safety - need I say more....?! Value for money since it is not as expensive as a BMW or a Porsche. I have had zero (0) issues with the car and only need to change tyres every now and then since the front wheel drive and 250 hp does not get along...Aug 21, 2008

Driven a few of these up through the years.
Needless to say, it's very comfy and spacious.
Stuffed with small, practical details that make everyday life a little easier.
Instruments are laid out in such a manner that you just locate all of them by instinct.
