2006 Mercedes-Benz R-ClassReview

Look people, You cant go wrong buying a Mercedes, any year model! they are the ultimyat in driving experience, nothing compares to the strength and durability and reliability and you dont have to use a mb dealer or mechanic for everything, yes the parts can be pricey but if you take care of them they are well worth their money and will last well into the 500000 miles and beyond ! Ive owned several old used ones. and paid almost nothing for them from people who have no clue about how dependable they are. less than a 1000 for one and 4000 for another. thats unreal when you look at how much the car was to begin with! |

I was uneasy at first due to the overall weight of the car. However, the car got a legitimate 20.1 MPG with the 5.0 V8. It rode quiet and comfortable at a cruise engaged speed at 75 MPH. I have no regrets in buy a nice , safe car to carry my Grandkids in. |

My Favorite Vehicle To Drive — I love this car! From the comfort of the seats to its ability to take on the snow and the open roads. It has dvd players for the kids and beautiful sounding speakers to rock out to. While on road trips, the car loves the highway. I had to check my speed often as this girl likes to go. The cruise control is a must for road trips. I was doing 100 mph and it didnt feel as such! The car handles nicely. I feel safe and secure driving the kids around. I would like to add a back up camera as its a little long but not too bad. Love that it automatically adjusts for steep incline/declines on its on. Amazing vehicle with the horse power to match. This is not a mini van at all!! Love my sports wagon. Primary Use: Family transportation Pros: Great for Family, cargo and Long Road Trips! Cons: Air ride suspension goes out and need replacing every 1 to 2 years ($2500) panoramic sunroof fails and needs new motor ($3000) |

Best Car I've Owned And Met My Crazy & Unique Needs On All Levels Of Function And Fun. — Love just about everything with this car. Has great storage capacity. Lots of flexible seating arrangements to comfortably fit 6 adults or 4 kids in car seats with easy access to the seats/buckles, lots of cargo room when back row (or only 1 seat) isn't needed, best looking station wagon in existence! All the Mercedes luxuries are always a plus, as well as knowing this car will run forever if well maintained. Handles really well in snow with 4-matic four wheel drive and can even raise the car 6" if in some really deep snow. Tons of power - have option to drive "sport" or "comfort" - luxury at its best. First look at the huge dual moon roofs and I was in love - even before I saw how all the seats could move around. Safety was also very important to us when we bought this car knowing we'd be driving precious cargo around (pregnant with first child when bought this) and Mercedes never disappoints! Primary Use: Family transportation Pros: Very versatile care with lots of options for seating and storing. I have 3 kids ages 3 and under and trying to access car seat buckles for each, while still getting a double wide jogging stroller in the back - pretty impressive. Has a V8 engine with a kick. Can also shift gears on the steering wheel (like in race cars) so my husband didn't have to feel like he was driving a station wagon. Cons: the doors are really large so trying to squeeze a pregnant body and a toddler out of the car in a tight parking spot were never easy. now I understand why mini vans have sliding doors. If you move to a new area and don't know a good Mercedes mechanic, you have to pay dealer prices (over inflated) to have any work done |

Spacious, Luxurious, Reliable High End Family Car With Lots Of Room — Originally leased the R for 27 months - but loved it so much bought it at lease end and have owned it for over 7 years. Inside it is like any other high end Mercedes, but has extra space for passengers and cargo. Great all wheel drive, smooth ride. Primary Use: Family transportation Pros: The 2006 was the only year with the smooth and powerful V-8. The 2+2+2 seating makes this car a comfortable and spacious ride for 6 adults. 2nd row is very spacious. Cons: The exterior seems a little too much like a hearse - but as long as you skip the black exterior its not an issue! |
