2006 INFINITI M35 RWDReview

Comfortable, Sleek, Reliable — I got this car because I had my eyes on a Lexus. After more research, I found that I could get a fully loaded Infiniti and it was more affordable than a stock Lexus. It's sleek, handles well, I feel safe in it. It's roomy inside and comfortable for short or long trips. I commute an hour and a half to and from work, so trips to the gas station are frequent for me, but I stay on top of the oil and maintenance so everything has been right on target with replacing things as expected. Navigation is wonderful and the backup camera is really helpful. The sound system is great and I just love this car! Pros: This car is smooth, comfortable, and quiet on the road. It has held up for a long time and is still going strong. Cons: Before this I had a Honda civic so with my commute for work, trips to the gas station are more frequent and more expensive |

Great Family Car And Daily Drive — More than 100,000 with only regular maintenance and runs like new!! great car under 70 mph you will get 400+ miles to the tank I have nothing else to say great comfort and totally reliable. Great leg and head room Bluetooth, great sound system cold/heat front seats it’s just a great car all around. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Great looking car all over, Cons: a little more power will be perfect but then economy will be out the door. |

Am Selling It Now, But Somewhat Sad To Part With It. — wonderful experience. Aside from my Mercedes 2004 CLK 500 Cabriolet, the nicest car I have driven and owned. The only downside to the car that probably has been improved on in the new model is the transmission. When punching the gas peddle, there is a little hesitation before the power of the 280 horses kicks in. But it will throw you back in your seat with its responsive acceleration. steering and braking are pin point. Traction control really is a feature that gives one confidence driving in any weather condition. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: A wonderful automobile. Competent at everything anybody would want in a luxury brand. This car excels at fit and finish. Handling is perfect and the feeling of safety and confidence is second to none. Service at the dealership is absolutely upscale. Incredible value new and pre-owned. the car, although with the pedigree decidedly Nissan, does have classic looks. I prefer the classic lines to the more exaggerated looks of the new M 37 Cons: The active restraint system in the car was overly sensitive for years. Just in the past year, the dealer finally detected a faulty sensor in the brake system. Since that time, the car has been a pleasure to drive and to own. The dealership moved quite a distance from my home and business making it somewhat inconvenient for servicing appointments |

Buy It!!! — the car is absolutely wonderful all around. Every option is available, great handling, sporty (almost too sporty and stiff) suspension. Extremely reliable, after owning an Audi A8 - this is a huge sigh of relief!! The fuel consuption is pretty horrible for a V6, but that's what you get for the AWD system. But this too little to think about when you sit behind the wheel and enjoy every moment. Pros: It's a great looker, every option including navi, back up camera, bluetooth handsfree and voice command system are extremely easy to use! I love my Baby M35X!! The most reliable car I ever owned! Cons: The downsides are: a really stiff suspension; for a car, that's in the luxury class, it could be definitely a little softer and more comfortable; and the fuel consumption really needs to be better in today's world. |

To M Or Not To M — Performance - Acceleration is sufficient but much more needed. Braking feels weak. Handling is excellent. Build Quality - So far excellent. Appearance - It's definitely a looker. Every day someone walking past looks twice sometimes three times. Interior is the wheat with woodgrain trim. Technology Package and Travel package. CoW - Well it's 13.6L/100kms so not exactly fuel efficient. I use premium fuel only and the cost at the pump is $60 from 1/4 tank left. Maintenance is a mute point. All I have done since purchase is an oil change, tranny fluid replacement, and coolant flush. Fun Factor - Mediocre. I would like to see more hp. Press the accelerator fall into the seat face warping g forces ;) Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Appearance and Quality seem to be the high points for this car. Gread work Infiniti (aka Nissan, further aka Datsun) Cons: Fuel efficiency. If you're a tree hugger AVOID like the plague. |

06 M35x — I absolutely love the M. The M has a focus on luxury rather the performance orientated G. The ride is great, but still responsive in the corners. Mileage isn't great, but having AWD in crappy weather helps with that. Everything feels solid and well built, with little to no gaps in panels. Pros: Style, Performance, luxury, Navigation Cons: Gas Mileage, cost of repairs outside of warranty, expensive tires |

Contemperary Awd Performance Sedan — The power that you get from that V6 is amazing considering the wight of the car. Thanks to the AWD the handeling is of the utmost and is very responsive. Pros: Awsome handeling and power Cons: Electrical problems with the first models |

This car is a rocket - one heck of a lot of fun to drive. It looks sedate and mature, but thats true only on the outside - Inside it seems to want a race track. Passing a car on a two lane road is not an issue - one second youre going a depressingly slow 60 MPH behind a Sunday driver and 5 seconds later the slow driver is a dot in the rear view and youve gone from 60 to 95 and are settling back in at a decent speed. Its a little fussy if you live in a cold / snowy / icy climate, however. Rear wheel drive and standard performance tires are not your friends when it comes to traction. Its also a bit smaller than I expected - very comfortable for 4 adults, but more gets to be a bit tight. You just need to ask yourself - how much do I value fun? vs1996 Nissan Maxima GLE
2006 INFINITI M35 x AWD winning categories:
Family Car
Ranked 1996 Nissan Maxima GLE better.
"Feels like the interior compartment is designed with space, rather than aerodynamics in mind. Its more open. I think it also has more cargo room, but Im not sure."
Would Buy
Ranked 1996 Nissan Maxima GLE better.
"Price and practicality. If it were just for me, I would buy a used Infiniti - but for my family, the Maxima is simply more practical." |

vs2006 Acura RL
2006 INFINITI M35 winning categories:
Back Seats
Ranked 2006 Acura RL worse.
"The back seats of the Infiniti have easier entry based on a higher roofline and are more supportive than the acura’s. There is no power outlet, though."
Family Car
Ranked 2006 Acura RL worse.
"The overall greater reliability and durability of the M35, if only slight, compared to the RL would make this an overall greater family vehicle. The RL does have a more comfort- oriented ride, though."
Value
Ranked 2006 Acura RL worse.
"The many features that were ahead of their time in 2006 have really allowed for a used car that still seems modern and much newer than it is. The classy styling also helps maintain an ageless persona. The reliability also keeps maintenance costs low."
Would Buy
Ranked 2006 Acura RL worse.
"Honestly both are good buys." |
