2005 is the year for major transmission problems. The vehicles were so bad that customers had a class action suit against Volvo and they won!

I just bought this car for one dollar for the clear title. The car had one owner who babied it for 17 years. It has 330,000. miles on the engine and still runs GREAT! I had the engine compression checked and its OK. No oil leaks and no knocks. Its a cruiser on the freeway. I am wondering if I should get a refurbished engine of the same kind and insert it into this car. The body inside and out are undamaged and the original paint job still shines. Comments anyone? This car rides the road better than my Nissan Pathfinder.

Excellent — Love the car, just don't need all the space anymore. This suv is a well built vehicle with lots of power. the great thing is it only burns regular gas. It is clean inside and out. Rides better and is quieter than my hubby's Lexus.

Pros: great SUV

Cons: nothing

Good Family Car — 6cd changer, power seats, 2.5l turbocharged engine, and a lot of safety features make this a great family car. If need to load, huge cargo area by folding third row, second row, and even passenger side front seat. Incredible sound system, really stable suv

Pros: Rides extremely smooth; Volvo have a name regarding security and this counts for me a lot

Cons: Volvo service sometimes is difficult

Great Car — Love the car. We have had 3 volvos in the past and consider them to be the safest car on the road. With car gurus I was able to find this auto at a price that was very fair. The dealership was wonderful and very professional. I would recomend Orlando Landrover to anyone buying a car.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Seats seven

Cons: none

Volvo? What Else? — Huge accélération for an 2 tons SUV. Swedish quality and security built. No noise inside, trip, as long they are, are restfull. A great car and i always have fun to drive it. Unfortunatly, this car loves gasoline and tyres.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Silent, acceleration, equipment

Cons: gas mileage

If You Don't Care About Performance And You Have A Large Family Who You Want To Be Safe, This Is Goo — If you value performance, then this is not the car for you. The 2.5T is a small engine for something so big, so performance is nothing to write home about. It was not designed to be a performance car. 0-60 mph takes 11 seconds or so. Around corners, it rolls heavily and throttle will result in serious understeer. The steering is as vague as it gets. The first half an inch or so of steering in either direction from center does nothing at all. However, if performance is not your top priority, then this is an excellent car in terms of practicality and comfort. The ride is quite soft. The seats are fairly comfortable. There isn't too much road or tire noise. It can seat 7 people, though the two seats in the very back have little legroom. Those are best left for the children. With the seats folded down, there is plenty of room for cargo, enough for something like a small couch. The split tailgate is a nice touch and makes loading heavy items easier.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: It's comfortable and quiet. You can get 7 people in it. Airbags will coccon your loved ones in a bed of safety in the event of a crash

Cons: Lame performance, goes through a lot of fuel

Xc90 D5 — The D5 was to small for this heavy car. But it was a dream in the winter and long-journeys. The build quality was not very good, other Volvo models seems to have better quality! Maybe a T6 engine would fit the car better?

Pros: Space and winter qualities

Cons: Diesel consumption and tired engine

Sooooooooooo Fast — Excellen torque and horsepower, very good around turns. Handles like a car, room like a SUV.

Pros: 311 Horsepower, sleek finish, beautiful interior and large motor and towing capacity

Cons: Navigations sustem isn't the best and the turn signal switch sticks once in a while

Has A Great Passing Gear, But Not A Lot Of Storage With 3rd Row Seating. — This is my 'company' car that I use for personal use also. It is great in an accident...unfortunately, I can attest to this. :( Kind of noisy. Very nice looking car.

Pros: 7 passenger, looks good, takes off well at 70mph :)

Cons: lack of storage, road noise, lack of storage
