2005 Volkswagen Jetta Review
My parents have this Jetta and love it. I would purchase a jetta but it would not rank above the Mazda because of space, style, and comfort. The gas mileage is better here, and the durability is never a question but maintenance is expensive and the transmission issues seem to be a common theme with the VW.

Vw Diesel Gets 40-45 Mpg's — I have very mixed feelings about this car...I love what it was capable of, and what it was supposed to do. But the fact of the matter is, it kept failing! The engine and transmission were the only thing I didn't have problems with. So I sold it, went Japanese, and couldn't be happier!

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Diesel, 40-45 mpgs!

Cons: European reliabilty

Wickedly Awesome Family Car — I love so much about this car. I love the power, I love how solid it feel, I love how comfortable the seats are even the back. I love how big the trunk is. I love how cool this car looks.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: VW is an awesome car company! They only use the best parts! And because it is a manual diesel we get excellent gas mileage

Cons: No cons, except it would be awesome if it was all electric

We Are Driven — Cant say one bad thing about this triptronic engine the car is a keeper.I will buy a new engine when this one goes out. This is one great car and I am glad I purchased it the payments were 599.00 a month but I was upside down on the Mits. Galant that tore up in the first 20,000 miles. If you want a great car that wont break down go with a VW. I am a Proud Owner .

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: This 2005 jetta  all leather heated seats I have 277,000 miles on it no timing belts etc..I will always buy volkswagens after getting this car new and getting away from all those otherstay in the shop cars. I used this car for runing a route for health departments 400 miles a night never let me down or got me stranded in the back county's snow ice no problem for this car. Happy Owner

Cons: I really cant say anything negitive about this carheated leather seats in winter..

Overall A Great Vehicle — Love how it handles and how inexpensive it is to drive. The seats are comfortable but the rear leg room is limited. It has a large cargo space for a vehicle of this size. I looked for long time to find this TDI wagon, but the wait was worth it.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: MPG and it is fun to drive.

Cons: A little boxy looking

Outstanding , Excellent In Driving — Remarkable car drives as good when it was only 32, 700 miles. Hugh upgrade done to motor on the mechanical area of jetta. Braking has been upgraded with OEM parts that are slotted rotors front and back plus new brake pads. The VW Jetta drives very smooth especially a notice with the transmission filter and fluid kit change. Overall with the New VW Turbo charger recently replaced on 29 March 2012 what a difference. The motor has new lift injection pump and O2 Oxygen sensor and metering sensor. Plus new battery and new electronic Fuel pump and sensor for the gasoline tank. Drives and handles like new car.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: High mileage, Low maintenance, Cargo/Towing 1000 lbs, ABS (ESP) braking system,

Cons: Showing minimal wear on interior and exterior.

Whew I Love My Baby! — Love my baby! Drives like a dream, great XM radio, lots of fun to drive, mechanically sound. Car has great acceleration, and is very roomy inside. It is bigger inside than my father's Lexus IS 350, a car that I disdain to the ends of the earth.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Lots of fun to drive; corners on a dime!

Cons: a bit pricey...
