Base on internet reviews and Ford multiple engines and transmissions problems. Buying any Ford Expedition to me is a big risk in the long run.

The placement of the hand holds to enter the car is much better. It is shorter than the Sub so easier to maneuver.

Great Family Vehicle — The Ford Expedition is a wonderful family car. It's cargo space is great for traveling, camping, and every day use. Our only dislike was the MPG. Now that gas prices have decreased, even that is a non-issue. Great family vehicle!

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Love this as a family vehicle.  Our Expedition served us well

Cons: MPG

Great Family Vehicle For The Money — The Ford Expedition is a great family vehicle as it gives you loads of room for people (ours seats 7) and plenty of room for cargo. It is not great for fuel economy (12/16 mpg), but compares well to other vehicles in its class. If you need to tow, it has plenty of capacity at over 8k lbs. Ours is equipped with the 5.4l V8 and it 4WD. The only major repair expense I have had was with a faulty coil pack. That was around $450, but included replacing all spark plugs. This occurred at around 75k. Overall, I have had a great experience with Ford and would recommend to anyone.

Pros: Lots of room

Cons: Lots of gas

Take Anything And Everyone Anywhere — Great family hauler that will go anywhere and tow anything you can hook onto it. The V8 engine is fantastic. Lots of room inside. Love the power folding 3rd row seats. Wife also loves the power adjustable gas and brake pedal. The Expedition is "Murica" at it's finest. Gas mileage is 14-17, but that's expected with a 300 hp. V8. Towing anything over 5,000lbs. like a big camp trailer though will only get you 11 mpg.

Pros: Power, cargo room, 3rd row seat, powertrain

Cons: gas mileage

Great Family Suv — Great car except it is expensive to drive. Fuel cost for in town driving excessive. Highway driving is not bad as long as you stay out of the pedal. This vehicle has plenty of room for 8 people or a large family. It is also good for pulling trailers.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Very Large and roomy

Cons: uses a lot of fuel

Reliable And Affordable With Great Features — This is my first Expedition and you get a lot for the money. A similar Yukon or Tahoe would be thousands more and I believe this has better styling ques. Four wheel drive system is more reliable than a GM product and I believe it does better in winter conditions. It is not fuel efficient but that is a cost I am willing to pay to be above the road. Parking is much easier than assumed, rear park assist is a great feature.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Excellent 4wd system, attractive Eddie Bauer trim pkg. Affordable SUV that still could pass for $20,000 looks

Cons: Stiffer ride than a GM SUV

Great Condition — I love this vehicle, it is great for trips. I would like to downsize to a small car for work to save on gas money. It has been used as my family car and my husband has pulled a travel trailer with it twice.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Dependable and everyone fits in one vehicle

Cons: gas mileage
