Buyer Be Informed. — The car is great for running around and enjoying. Before purchasing please search the IMS class action lawsuit against Porsche. I would not buy this vehicle again and Porsche will not do the right thing when it comes to your interest. Dealership wanted $27,000.00 to fix my 2004 car. I found Eurowise of Charlotte, NC that repaired the issue for $4,600.00. Verify that the IMS has been upgraded before you purchase the car. My vehicle has 6,700 miles when this failed and the Charlotte, NC did not help with my case with Porsche. Sad customer service and I have all major car dealerships to compare service against.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Great looking car and well engineered.

Cons: 2001-2004 IMS Bearing Class Action Lawsuit.  This will cause you to purchase a new engine.

Fabulous "true" Sports Car. — I love everything about this car. To drive this car is like an extension of yourself. Just point it in any direction and it goes there. Acceleration is great and handling and braking are even better. "One of the best cars in the world" as written by Road & Track magazine.

Pros: Great acceleration, handling and braking.  Looks fabulous. Automatic convertible top.  Awesome Bose stereo system.

Cons: Small amount of luggage space.  Because of mid engine design the seats do not recline back very far.

A Pure Sports Car — The Boxster lives up to its' reputation - it handles well, is a joy to drive with the top down, and for me at least, has delivered excellent reliability and decent fuel economy. At the same time, it is reasonably quiet and comfortable. In sum, all of the benefits of a sports car without most of the drawbacks.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Handling

Cons: More power would be nice

If The Batmobile Were Comfortable And Didn't Need Armor Or Guns, It Would Be This Car. — 265 horse, 3.2-liter ( flat-six: 0 to 60 in 5.4 seconds. Top track speed of 165. Handling is incredible with its suspension beefed up, 5 mm wheel spacers all the way around, standard 18-inch Carrera wheels with massive slotted discs, 15% shorter shift travel in the six-speed manual transmission. . There's nothing like a Porsche, the Boxster is a mid-engine dream, and the Special Edition Boxster is truly one-of-a-kind.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Absolutely gorgeous, perfect comfort, all the bells and whistles. Neck-snapping acceleration: 40-60 in one second (2nd gear, of course). Out-handles just about everything else on the road - including most 911s!

Cons: Porsches are expensive!

Buy One, Enjoy It — Fun car to drive, amazingly forgiving on a race track, quite reliable and so far no rattles or squeaks. It needs more power, though. We compete against much more powerful cars and it has shown it's tailights to a lot of them.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: handling, style, open air motoring

Cons: If you live in polar regions.

Gotta Drive One — I love the way it takes the tight turns and quick accelaration. Of course the fact that it's a convertible makes it a perfect car for driving around California. Fun car to drive withour a doubt and plenty of juice

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Stylish

Cons: If you can't afford it

Boxster Joy — During the 2 day session at Nelson Ledges race track with the Porsche Club I was amazed at how this mid engine car with relatively low torque ran with then pushed much more powerful cars, including turbos. Two cars spun out ahead of my trying to stay ahead. Only the radiio was below my expectations. So, I replaced it with a superb system from Alpine with a 500 watt amp, new speakers all around (four behind the seats) added SIRIS Sat stealth and the system is now world class (like the car).

Pros: Superb room for two and luggage

Cons: Not cheap

Custom Porsche — The Boxter is the most stable configuration of any of the Porsche I have driven. Mid engine weighting is fantastic on twisty roads. The finish is impeccable. The only issue is acceleration. My BMW M Roadster had more streight line acceleration, but didn't handle as well. I also had SpeedArt custom nose and side skirts so it looked like a 911 from the door sill forward and a boxter from the back. The best of both worlds.

Pros: handling finish and trunk space

Cons: too low to the ground and expensive to maintain

Roadster Heaven! — great handling, super steering, fab engine...only reliability let it down, too many niggly faults...mine was a manual and the gearbox was great.

Pros: engine, handling, sterring

Cons: reliability issues, easily marked hood

Funnest Car To Drive With The Sky At Your Fingertips. — The 18" wheels are sharp on this car, the upgrades with this year include colored Porsche crest on the steering wheel and a glass window in the soft top. The engine sound and handling are great. Auto-Climate control is nice. I just love this car!

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Great handling with a nice balance of power and gas mileage. Seats are comfortable even on long trips and hold you in nicely.

Cons: None
