Zoom! Zoom! — This is my mothers car. She loves the look, comfort, utility, build quality, gas mileage, performance, and handling. It is just plain fun to drive. I would recommend it to anyone who is in need of a good, reliable commuter vehicle. Primary Use: Commuting to work
Pros:
Driving experience Cons: None |

I Loveperfect For A Budget An Still Fun And Enjoyable — the only mechanical discomfort is the transmission reverse is where the non existent 6th gear should be and 5th revs too high also a lot of shift jiggle. The suspension is far to stiff and instead of adding performance it takes away Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: over all exterior and interior design are simple and easy to personalize and make your own. quick and agile for a little four banger , and great visibility Cons: cabin is very noisy and bumpy, a/c controls are loose and function spuratically |

Sporty Hatchback With Cute Styling — Loved the car. With four doors and a hatch back we packed quite a few people and stuff in it at different times. We thoroughly enjoyed the drive. Cornered like it was on rails. Parallel parked like a dream. Super responsive steering. It was a 5-speed manual so we pulled all the power we needed, when needed. *Very* fun to drive. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Super responsive steering. Cons: A little small, but suitable for short distances with five adults in it. |

5-door Grocery Getter That Feels Like A Go-kart — I bought the car new in 2003 for it's handling, looks, equipment and unparalleled value at the time. It's been a fun car, handling daily tasks well, being practical and making a good long distance companion. Now thanks to the depreciation it's worth nothing, but makes a great commuter car for the daily 905/416 struggle. Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.) Pros: handling, size Cons: Rust! and the seats are not comfy (lots of backaches) |

I'll Never Buy Another Mazda Due To Poor Service At Dealer (i Think This Car Was A Lemon) — Purchased in Dec. '04 w/ 16k. Had vehichle rust protected by dealer since I live in ON & use salt brine in winter. Still a rust bucket. ABS/ ebrake sensors gone @ 40k. Brakes done 4x under 70k. Im thinking itsa lemon! Primary Use: Family transportation Pros: styling Cons: body/brakes/wheels |

Dont Buy It New - Go For A Good Deal And Negotiate! — Sport drive which is good - lacks a bit of HP and steadiness in the curves at high speed. Overall very economic so can't complain! Big disappointment on the body - had to spent lot of time & money getting rid of that rust! Primary Use: Family transportation Pros: Fun to drive - cant go wrong or end up in the field. Cons: Did I say RUST!!!! |

Absolutely A Great Vehicle To Own, Love It To Death — Quick but by no means fast, great craftsmanship and build quality, no rattling or poor components, nice color and style, cheap to own and maintain, and has lots of space and is great to drive. I would recommend this vehicle to anyone. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: Practicality and fun in one package Cons: Not very fast |

The Mazda Protege5 (2002 & 2003) is one of the most underrated cars available in the market. It is lighter, but with more horsepower than a VW Golf of the same vintage. Features like the anti-sway b... Read More
