Decent Mid Size Suv — Our CR-V is 11 years old with 134,000 miles and has been fairly reliable but has had two major repairs. The alternator went out a few years ago and the starter this year. However, the body has held up well, and still no rattles after 11 years. The CR-V only came in two trims, the FWD LE and AWD EX. Plastic storage bin lock broke long ago and the cheap inside door fabrics have had to be glued on. Gas mileage not as good as expected, even with good tires, regular oil changes, and air filter changes. Burns more oil than my 99 Dodge Caravan. Slightly disappointed with Honda quality. This vehicle has been given to my son for college use. UPDATE: Since this was given to my son, we have had to replace the rear drivers side brake caliper - twice. Then weve had to replace the starter - also twice (2015 and 2016). One of the oxygen sensors needs to be replaced as well and can only be done at the dealer. Because of this, the gas mileage is poor. Cant wait to trade this in one day. Very disappointed in Honda. We had a 2006 Honda Civic that also gave us nothing but problems until the engine block cracked from overheating. Cant wait to get rid of this one.

    Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: *Great acceleration and torque.  Good power for a 4 cylinder engine
*Very easy to change break pads and other do it yourself maintenance

Cons: *Ride is truck like and jerky, not very smooth
*Only fairly reliable - Honda quality has gone down
*EX is top trim - yet not many features and cheap plastic interior. Bottom storage door has been broken for years because of cheap plastic

The Best Vehicle I've Owned. — There is a reason that the Honda CR-V is so popular. My 2003 has been an amazing vehicle for me and my family. It has a fantastic balance of power and fuel economy from a four cylinder engine. The handling is amazing on any road condition. The interior has withstood a lot of use. By far this has been the best car I have owned. I do admit that the road noise is more than the average car, but a good set of tires will mitigate most of the noise irritation.

    Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Reliable and great handling, Good quality interior materials, no breakdowns, Easy to find parts, great engine

Cons: Considerable amount of road noise,

A Very Reliable, Confident Car That Is Great For Toting The Family Around. — Really, I just wish it had more power. It's hard to accelerate off the line in a car that would like to stroll. The other problem I have is that if you don't manually turn off the head lights the battery will be dead in a few hours. I have never had that problem with other vehicles I have owned. Especially as most cars today turn off on their own........ Just saying.

    Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Very Reliable and easy to maintain. Amenities include a 6 CD changer & sunroof, as well as durable floor mats throughout the vehicle.

Cons: Not a lot of power.  It does not enjoy being aggressive.

Great Reliable Family Vehicle — This is a great family SUV. Very reliable, comfortable ride and safe. It has tons of rear storage with a built in picnic table for that spontanious picnic. It also has a cover that hides the rear storage. This has been a great family vehicle for the last 5 years for us.

    Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Lots of rear storage, reliable, versatile, good fuel economy, cool features

    Cons: Are there any?

Over Hiped! Honda Civic Wagon Was A Far Better Vehicle. — Terrible engineering concerning the throttle cable and cruise control being attached to the trottle body assembly. Front end collission results in bent parts and having to replace trottle body module ($$$) because trottle body made from cast metal and minimum support for bracket required for throttle and cruise control cabling. Unnecessary if a bracket were designed rather than molded mount to cast metal in a vunerable area at the front of the engine compartment.

    Primary Use: Commuting to work

    Pros: Roomy

Cons: Paint does not hold up, especially in Florida. Poor gas milage compared to former Honda Civic Wagons. Poor engine compartment design. Expensive to repair. Hidden repairs needed after front end collision, many not obvious, e.g. throttle body mounts for cableing.
