The 2002 Toyota Corolla went into the model year completely unchanged.
The 2002 Corolla came with an aluminum 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine. Fuel economy was about 31-38 mpg. The S model, just introduced the previous year, came with a number of distinctive features, including unique wheel covers, foglights, a tachometer, and a faux leather-wrapped wheel. The base-level CE came with only the basics, and the nicely equipped LE rounded out the lineup.
Owners of the 2002 Corolla have a number of complaints, including a bumpy, noisy ride; a lack of interior space; and unimpressive acceleration. Still, drivers admit that the value, dependability, and fuel efficiency make the 2002 Corolla worth it

the acceleration braking and handeling were all very good for a JDM car. the car was a very sturdy car when it lasted. it was very cheap to maintain. this car is very fun to drive with its touchy gas pedal and quick exceleration.Dec 26, 2011

One of light weighted car, and maintenance cost is low. I think, it's a long lasting car, the look is good, it's bit old now as so many cars are in market but it was competitive during it's time. fine car Nov 01, 2011

Performance - handles great, sharp acceleration and handling. AC is very cold. Solid, dependable car. Consumer Reports rates it excellent and a top-rated older car to purchase.
Build Quality - no leaks, squeaks, or rattles. Uses a little bit of oil, catalytic converter should be replaced if passing emissions test is required.
Cost of ownership - gets great gas mileage. Will need regular maintenance.
Fun Factor - Yes. It is cute and sporty and has a sunroof that works.

Love this car. Very economical. Comfortable, easy to drive and has performance when you need it. Fits car seat, stroller and dog no problem. Tidy appearance, like the interior in black. I just need to wash it more. Recommend to buy.Jun 25, 2009

* Performance – acceleration is fair seems to be as powerful as my 1999 Acura Integra, braking and handling are as expected for an entry-level car.
* Build Quality – it hasn't needed repairs since purchasing it, though it has over 170,000 Km. No squeaks, but the shocks are beginning to have rattles.
* Appearance – for an entry-level, base Toyota (not well known for their body styling, especially since the demise of the Supra and Celica) the styling insn't bad at all. Interior styling isn't anything to write home about.
* Cost of Ownership – gas mileage is well above average. I'm not the most conservative driver and I still get 40+ miles to the gallon. Maintenance has yet to become an issue. Everything works just fine, as expected.
* Fun Factor – is this car fun to drive? Definitely, yes! It is not a high-powered beast, but it goes right along and manages the corners quite well.Mar 11, 2009

The car has a 1.6 Liter or 97 CI engine and has a modest 80Kw or 111Bhp but accelerate and handles very well. It has 17 inch rims with 205/40/ZR17 Pirrelli P-Zero Nero tyres. It has a custom rear boot spoiler and a custom exhaust system.Feb 23, 2009

It's a nice car that's is very dependable. Also Toyota is
a very reliable company that will be around when the
others go under or get bough out. Take the American
car companies. This car is fun to drive. It's fully loaded
with a 6 cd changer and an upgraded stereo and
speaker system.Feb 14, 2009

I could never be happier with another car. Simply put, this car is worth every penny that was paid for it. Never had to replace anything other than the stabilizer bar, due solely to the harshness of NH winters (frost heaves). The best part of this car is, driven accordingly, it gets 40 miles per gallon. I could not be happier.Sep 09, 2008

I got this car in August of 2001, with 4 km's on it. I've racked up 360,000km's on it and have had VERY little trouble ever, and I can honestly say that I've never given a car more abuse than I have this one. This last august (2007) it came off of a beautiful trip to Vancouver island with no problems at all! Mar 28, 2008

It looks horrible sometimes, but when you get to know it, it really becomes a nice car. It's got reasonable performance(when considering it is a japanese medium range family saloon). It very luxurious in it's class, and amazingly comfortable. Great value for money and very economical (15km/l).Jan 22, 2008

This car is great. Gets around 35mpg on average, pretty good acceleration for a 4 cyl, brakes work great, handles really well, engine is quiet, stock sound system is perfect. Only thing that really bothers me about this car is that it can get whipped around in high wind because its so light.Dec 04, 2007
I found one on eBay it’s a 2003 manual transmission will that fit into a 2002 Corolla AutoZone says no but I talked to another mechanic and he said it will bolt up. You just might have to put the newer CV shafts from the 03 into your 2002 Corolla manual
Toyota corolla tail lights won't turn off. I have tried pulling battery, fuses all check out. Could a relay cause this? Any help would be appreciated, just getting into this.
My battery is dead and my alarm won't turn off. There is a flashing red light on the left side of the steering wheel. How do I get the alarm to go off so my mechanic can start it up so he can fix my tire
