I'm Going To Miss It —

I was terrified having bought my van when it had 50k miles on it and having done Zero research. But in the 8 years I had it, it only left me along side the road once. I was terrified due to all the issues I read that they had.. Common issues that transmissions... A/C began leaking into the first year. I never fixed it and never found the leak. I did a LOT of heavy towing with the van with an overloaded Popup Jayco. I also had my KTM 400MXC on a trailer hitch rack. I've read that the Transmissions on these vans are infamous. I never had one issue. I did have issues with the sliding door rollers.. Even had a door fall off once and gouge the heck out of my paint. The lever that opens the back hatch broke around 100k miles and most annoying the latch on the driver's side broke causing me to have to roll down the window and open the door from the outside. I never had an issue with overheating, which apparently is a common issue. At 60k miles I had a wheel bearing go out and it was my first realization that NO ONE, other than online carried parts for these cars. I had to order a new spindle and bearing set online and have it shipped to me. EVERYTIME I had new tires put on the van the tire shop would break a nug nut post. At first I was pissed because I thought the tire guy was just an idiot. After the 3rd set of tires I realized they're just junk. In all the time I owned my van, I never did anything but put tires on it and change the oil.. Well and the occasion windshield wiper. I got 20mpg consistently. I really wanted to change the wires, but at $160 per side, I never did. Sadly, my van was recently totaled by a snow plow at 145k miles and I'm sad to see it go. It, apparently, was the only non-lemon of the bunch.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Reliable, Roomy

Cons: Nickle and Dime you for all the little things that break

Overall This Is A Great Family Car Very Reliable & Great Power For A Van. — Not much, surprinsly great handling for a minivan, hugs the road & keeps me in control at all times, feels great, comfort levels are great with the Captain Bucket seats & 3rd row, everyone gets a seat & when not traveling with entire family the 3rd row folds down for extra storage,we loved it.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Great Handling,Comfortable,Love Sunroof/Moonroof,Plenty of Storage Room.

Cons: Could have Better Mileage

Kia? Never Again — Overall this car was fine for the first year, then things started happening. The dealer we bought it from went out of business, then the next closest one to our home also went out business. now I have to drive at least 20 miles for any service. however, service at the dealer is so expensive I try to do most of it myself. almost all the interior and exterior parts are made from very cheap plastic so i have had to replace door handles and trim and many things keep breaking. this van is now 10 years old and we only have 70K miles but it looks like it has 300K. very unhappy with this van, never going to buy a Kia vehicle ever again

Pros: very affordable up front

Cons: expensive as hell to keep fixing everything.  three broken door handles, a broken driver's mirror (never bumped).  paint chipped & peeled as soon as paint warranty expired

I Liked My Sedona As Much Or More Than Any Other Car Or Van I Have Ever Owned. — Not enough cargo space when using the rear bucket seats also I would rather have the 3 individual seats in the middle rather than just a bench seat for two. Great Acceleration, braking and handling. Felt safe and enjoyable to drive. I was getting 20mpg in our rural town. It was amazing.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Lots of fun to drive not just a van,  it's a powerhouse of fun,  jets thru traffic

Cons: My engine died on me, and that was a real bummer, cause I like the van so much wanted to keep it, but it was shy of the cargo space I really wanted.  Needed more chrome.

The Sedona Is A Very Well Built Van Roomy Except For Lack Of Truck Space — car runs well with high octane fuel the trim work is very flimsy the front splash guard has issues it allows water to splash the engine ive had to do multiple repairs due to the issue also the rear coolant pipes rust out at an accelerated rate

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: comfortable

Cons: blindspots

An Okay Vehicle, With Somewhat Costly Maintenance — Great Price, but lots of expensive stuff can go wrong that shouldn't, and doesn't fit under the warranty. Just after full warranty expired, the A/C compressor seized. Rear Heater hose corroded out after one year. Corroded out again two years later. Allow wheels look terrible once the protective film wears off. Wish I had known it had a rubber timing belt that would need changed every 60000 miles, at $500 each time!

Not As Cheap As I Thought — Bought new as it was only mini-van I could afford. Have had all the typical sedona problems. Broken door handles, failed alternator, crank shaft issues, rust issues, etc. I will probably not even consider another Kia.

Owner for 5 years, 8 months

Miles Driven per Year:12,000
