Xjr What A Car — Let me put it this way, what else can you get for 15000 that is this fast, looks this good, and is this comfortable, nothing, that's what. This car is a riot, Corvette levels of speed (in some cases faster then) with four doors, what's not to love?

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: 0-60 in 5, need I say more?

Cons: Parts can be pricey, but I wouldn't say it sucks

Hannibal Lecter Drove One So It's Cool — Good fun, classic British cruiser. Wood, leather, grace space and pace as they used to say. Build quality on par with top Ford models as built under their ownership. Expensive parts prices. Definitely a future classic. Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear had 2.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Power, looks

Cons: Reliability, mainly due to LPG conversion

Look No Further If You Want A Great Car That Runs Like A Cat And Purrs Like A Kitten. — Great car if you want a daily driver year round even with rear wheel drive. Just get good tires, Continental ContiProContacts. Keep up with the regular maintenance and the car will do the rest! My only complaint is the headliner which in the XJ will develop a sag and need replacement. Otherwise, the car does all the work and I do the driving. Enjoy one.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: style, appearance, comfort, performance

Cons: headliner sag, fuel economy is acceptable

Xj Exec. —

I bought this model as it really looks like the lst of the Traditional XJ's.. Don't get me wrong, the X350 is a cracking car, and yes, I'll get one eventually.. But the styling of the X300-X308 is the last of the 'long low' saloons... So far (6 weeks) I like her a lot... Niggling quality issues over the build quality compared to my BWM 728i are glaringly obvious, and it is safe to say that although I love the ride and handling, there is no denying that the 'basic architecture' of this car is heavily revised XJ40 from 1986... A couple of interesting faults have occurred.. Drivers seat suddenly has no power, but memory module if fine, as steering wheel height and dor mirror memory works fine.. And the car diagnostic system has decided that a 2001 car done 58000 miles seems to need 2 new catalytic converters.. Which my mecahanic disputes, as it has just passed it's emissions test...?! Anyway, It is beautiful, comfortable in a 'snug and cosseting' in a way the 728i never was.. Has character like the BMW never had, and the V8 and 5 speed auto are wonderful..Have also had 28.8 mpg which is excellent.. Am I happy with her.. Ultimately yes, but the BMW 728i was efficient (if clinical) and nothing serious broke or acted up.. Time will tell if the love affair lasts.....

Pros: Beautiful styling, comfort, performance and economy..Ride and handling

Cons: Wind noise from around doors, testament to old structure, feels a little fragile.. Plastic Wood is unforgivable in a Jaguar

Nice Jag — The acceleration is amazing, especially with the sport system activated. The interior is very comfortable , and the custom racing seats are hella sick. Car is amazingly fun to drive in! I guess it costs a lot to own but its not bad but like each tire is $800... But overall hella sick car!!

Pros: Acceleration, ride, interior

Cons: not much

0-60 In Under 7 Seconds And 4 Up -its No Grandads Car! — This is a 150 MPH autobahn killer lets not beat about the bush. Available with 2 engines in the UK there is a 3.2 and a 4 litre V8. The 4 litre is the clear choice, 0-60 appears in a rapid 6 and a bit seconds and tops out at 150MPH. The 4 litre has very similar MPg to the 3.2. There is no wind noise or road noise even at 120-130 MPH. If you have a motorway commute this is the car for you. Remember new these cars were £45,000 to £55,000 (1998-2003 production run) so you can expect parts and servicing to cost a little more than a ford etc. Converted to gas, like mine is these are a very viable car.

Pros: It’s a Jaguar, great engine, ride, looks comfort, silent running, stereo. Pick of the bunch would be a 2002 dark Blue with Celtic alloys.

Cons: Early engines have Nikasil issues (until about sept 2000), all engines are susceptible to timing chain tensioner issues, they are about the 3rd revision now…  Some designs of water pump have impellors that just snap… If the thermostat blows (they jam shut!) you may cook the engine….
Costly Jaguar dealers and joke prices, - use specialists instead.
But trust me, do your research and you can avoid all this.

Classic English Elegance, Seldom Overtaken — This is the last of the lower XJ series and has a more purposeful and balanced look than the later version. Everything just works quietly, whether it is in a slow queue or cruising at 120+ on a motorway, which means you get in at one end and get out at the other quite relaxed. When it's clean you can park it next to anything with pride if you don't mind being a little dated in others' eyes.

Pros: relaxed, confident in any conditions, endless power, few people would know it's not new

Cons: 22mpg

Perfect Car For All Condition — Hmm, what to say - this is a great car that I used throughout summer and winter. Racing in this car is great, traction in snow is surprisingly good. Quite reliable.

Pros: Handling, Speed.

Cons: Nothing
