Performance: if you don't have passangers with you.
Brakes and handling: Poor braking with narrow tyres equals poor braking and cornering when driving at the limit.
Appearance: Average, nice little hatchback style car.
Costs: Very cheap, and most of all, very reliable construction with low spare part prices. The interior tends to crackle after 10 years, but it's something that you can live with.
Fun factor: accelerating and shifting is fun, the engine noise is present at all times, if you push the accelerator pedal, but if you cruise at a speed, it's totally bearable. cornering doesn't feel that good, due to the soft springs, and light body. So it's definitely not a race track car, but can be enjoyed in it's limits.

The suzuki swift may not be the fastest cars around but it is a very well built little steamer. I should now I have crashed two of them already!!
The euro encap says its 4 stars which ain't so bad, plus you have the added bonus that it's japanese which means good engine, eco friendly and moderately stylish.
I bought my car for £600 2 years ago and I had it valued the other day and it is still worth £600, not bad at all I hear you say and I agree, now as I said before it's not the fastest car ever but it is fun to drive!!! It sticks to the corners like glue you can quickly poke it through the small gaps around places quite quickly, and its not afraid of some revs here and there.
Sad I know but trust me if you know someone that is looking for a first car that is safe and fun you should always point them in the direction of a Suzuki Swft.Aug 05, 2008
