The 1999 Nissan Frontier saw an important change, though it had just been redesigned the year before: the addition of an optional V6 engine in the KingCab models. Nissan had originally intended to offer the V6 in the redesigned Frontier, but it wasn't ready for 1998 and the automaker opted not to put off the new Frontier's release. The 1999 Frontier comes in three trims: the base model, the midrange XE, and the fully loaded SE. The three trims came in a variety of body styles, including an extended cab (KingCab), a short bed, 4WH, and a regular cab. All Frontiers came standard with a 2.4-liter, 143-horsepower four-cylinder engine that gets about 20/24 mpg in the standard cab and 18/21 for the extended cab. The KingCabs were available with a 3.4-liter, 170-horsepower V6, which got 15/19 mpg. Drivers are for the most part happy with their 1999 Nissan Frontiers, citing the truck's reliability and value as its best assets. Some drivers complain that the seats are uncomfortable and that the four-cylinder isn't powerful enough.
I have a 1999 Nissan Frontier, usually it runs great, however over the past few days it hasn't started. It seems like it's not getting enough power to the engine to turn it over. Also, the lights dim when I go to turn it over. However, this isn't a battery issue. I've tested the voltage on the bettery and it's holding steady at 12V. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!
Changed the crank shaft sensor, new spark plugs , new wires , and new distributor and she still runs rough and when you step on the gas it doesnt help ? Help what can I do next to try ?
Will a 1995 manual Nissan frontier motor work with 1999 automatic Nissan frontier?
Keys were lost on 99 Nissan frontier. Ignition was removed. Looks like everything on the column was removed in attempt to hot wire. Now truck won't start. Got fire to distributer and fuel. And was told that if have to replace parts. Would it be easier to deal with to go to like pull a parts and get the whole column with switch. All of the brackets that hold switch was ripped out.
Had alternator replaced 3 months ago but it went bad. Have lifetime warranty but can't afford labor costs.
