Subaru=awesome — This generation Forester is nicely styled, has potential to be a killer sleeper. It has the flat four 2.5 liter which is phenominal. The car is very fun to drive, loves tight corners, but until the ABS and AWD kick in to kill the fun a little bit.

Pros: Its roomy and not too slow.

Cons: The gas mileage isn't anything to write home about.

Not A Good Choice For A High Mileage Vehicle — We bought this having heard that Subaru's would run forever. Well, they might, but it would cost alot to keep them running. We've had quite a few issues with the all-wheel drive system, and it has been very expensive, especially with relation to how much the car cost. The gas mileage is not that great either, we are getting app. 19 MPG on average.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Great in snow and ice, has enough room for a family of four

Cons: Poor reliability, expensive repair costs

I Loved It! — actually this car used to be one of my favorite ones! because it got good clearence & it's turbo! it's really good quality & not that expensive (OK). seems like this ane loved to be droven in the mounatins in a 4 season! good family & street racing car.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: fast & dynamic

Cons: not enough space for a family

Sporty, Family Friendly, And Overall Awesome — This Car is very solid and great in the winter! It has enough room inside and enough power under the hood to serve its purpose. I love driving it, rides nice and smooth, brakes on command and is great on gas. This is a great family car.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: its great on gas.

Cons: You can only fit 5 people in it or $ if you have car seats

Amazing Car, Would Recommend To Anyone! — At 286,000 miles on the original engine, this car ran with all the power and handling of an engine under 100,000 miles! It got 26-28 mpg on average and was a ton of fun to drive. I also like the half-suv-half-car style, it's attractive and very useful- lots of space. Only downside: it had a few oil leaks that I had to have fixed.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: good mpg, great engine, spacious, fun

Cons: oil leaks

I Love My Forester, But Wish I Didn't Have To Keep Putting Money Into It. — It's old now, but still running strong. Old Subies rock! It's been great since I bought it used 5 years ago, despite a few issues here and there. It has never left me stranded and it gets me thru everything New England has to offer for weather.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Utility is what it does best.  Goes anywhere and does anything, no matter the weather.

Cons: Head gasket failure has been the biggest issue with this car.

Good, Reliable — Love my car, being older you have to take the good with the bad. But shes real solid and hauls all my dive gear with out slowing down. Not the fastest car out there, by any means. Bad acceleration too. But like I said, she gets me where i need to go with what i have to take with me for the job.,.... plus I think shes pretty :)

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros: Holds all my Dive gear, has smooth ride

Cons: not a sports car

Good Little Car. — We love this car for the versatility it has. We take the dog and the whole family. It is easy to maintain, other than the coolant needing to be topped up. Great on gas. But it does look alot like a jeep!

Pros: sporty and cheaper than a van

Cons: it always overheats
