Great Car With One Fatal Flaw — I love this little car, it was cheap but performs very well and is very comfortable with leather heated seats power everything, a Bose sound system, a sunroof and a great ride. The car is incredibly reliable BUT they have poorly designed transmissions. Expect to get about 70- 90K out of each transmission before you need to replace it. Less if you are an aggressive driver. Mine was a one owner care driven by a middle aged woman and got 120K on the tranny before it blew. It cost 5K to replace it so it's not a cheap fix. All said though if you can find one with the tranny recently replaced you'll have a great cheap car for the next several years. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Fun comfortable and sporty Cons: TRANNY |

For The Next Couple Of Years....at Least. — I picked this up after i sold my audi, i wanted something sporty, efficent and big enough to haul full sized people around in. i found that in the form of a 1998 acura CL2.3 it has an F23A1 2.3 liter engine with SOHC VTEC. I have anintake, exhaust and soon headers and will be getting new plugs and wires as soon as money becomes available. I drive a 5 speed, and i honestly wouldnt have it any other way, the gears are smooth and the clutch engages real low making shifts easy. its great on gas, i average around 30-33 depending on how spirited i drive, not to mention it looks good! My 6'6 roomate fits in it comfortably and it handles like a dream on the stock suspension. ive only had one issue with it, and that was because of the previous owner. it has 53k miles on.. and is very very young for an Acura. i expect to drive this baby till she falls apart. Im making ~150 WHP and close to 190 at the crank, i wish i had more, but as time passes and i have the ability to spend mroe money, ill hopefully end up with a 300whp build. Pros: quick, roomy, well driving coupe, its a coupe Cons: its a coupe, tiny engine |

Acura Cl 1998 — Besides the fact it has an AT, its sporty and fun to drive. With 200 HP at your disposal, it never feels sluggish, reaching its redline quickly in passing/acceleration. The handling is tight, suspension is soft yet purposed. The interior is comfortable, leather would be nicer, gages are easy to read, controls simple, bose stereo is nice, but could use more thump. Pros: A few things Cons: Not much |

A Coupe Among Coupes. — The CL is fantastic, but my last car was a Buick so I might just be easily impressed. I'm glad I opted for the 3.0 liter, and even more glad I got an S-type. The car is a blast to drive, and I love to take it out and put it through its paces. I'd recommend a CL unconditionally. But if you like driving for the sake of driving, you need the 6 cylinder premium package. It also has a lot of head room for big guys like me and has enough room to seat four comfortably. For 6K, I couldn't be happier. Pros: Fun, responsive, amd fairly fuel efficient. Cons: Beginning to show signs of transmission troubles that plague many Acura models. |

98 Acura Cl 3.0 — Its a good daily driver to and from work everyday. I get 22-23mpg but it makes me want to speed. Cruises along great at 100mph. I have 164,000 miles and it still runs like new. Pros: Small and quick. Cons: Crappy transmission |

Not Sure It Was Worth The Price — I've always owned a lower price car as for me, it was only "transportation." Loved this car when I saw it / drove it. Have had a few recalls, and a few other problems. I'm keeping it as I'm told by other Acura owners that they run forever. Hope this is true. My leather seats have seen better days (Florida sun), and I probably would not get leather again. Other than that, the interior is in good shape as well as the exterior. Handles well, rides very comfortably. Owner for 7 years, 0 months Miles Driven per Year:16,000 Pros: handles well |

1998 Acura Cl 3.2l — This car is pretty fun to drive with a 5 speed manual. Reliability? This car wrote the book on it. Which is what every Honda/Acura has come to know and love. It has 167k miles and runs like new, no major repairs on it ever. it runs like new as well. Overall an amazing car for the value and an amazing first car. It's very luxurious, Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: every thing good with this car Cons: nothing wrong with this car |
