"Overall, owners of the 1997 Nissan Pathfinder appreciate its reliability, spaciousness, and safety features. Many highlight its dependability as a great family and camping vehicle. However, some drivers mention concerns about its performance, particularly feeling that the engine is underpowered and the cost of repairs can be high."

May 22, 2012The performance of this SUV is lacking. The 3.3L is under- powered and it feels as if it works to hard. The gas mileage isnt to bad however. I get about 19-20mpg around town, and for a vehicle that has 4x4 that is very good. The build quality of the vehicle is incredible! Ive never had anything go wrong with it.
October 18, 2009Dependable truck, but it can be costly to fix. Rust seems to be an issue but all in all it is solid. Rear suspension has some issues but it is fixable by your average guy with the right tools. This is my second one and if gas wasn;t so stinking expensive I'd upgrade to a newer one.
