Without driving I have no idea what might need attending to. If you are comfortable with rust, then this is fine, but the undercarriage is very rusty, although major welds seem unaffected. Assuming this truck is not run very often, and the engine was cold, it was off-putting to see oil drips hanging below the transmission seal, the transfer axle and engine oil pan. Trucks are maintaining and increasing their value at present, with more money being made at auction than on the lot, and this is priced to take advantage of that. Id ask for 50% off and take a gamble as it is a good looking truck (viewed Nov 28 - external and underneath only).

All Around Awesome — i love this truck. its tough, fun to drive, and dependable. i have only had one minor problem out of it, which i had fixed for less than $12 and it only took 5 minutes to repair. great truck, and looking to sink some more money into it soon. bigger tires and a small lift. nothing to fancy or big but just enough to catch every ones eye.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: reliable
comfortable
tough
smooth riding
durability
suspension
handling
etc.

Cons: none

Keeps On Truckin — This is a great truck if you keep it maintained. My truck spent its first 13 years in the sierra mountain taking on the winter snow and ice. The past 5 years have been down by the beach enduring the salt air. No major problems with the truck just regular maintainence. People still ask me what year it is since it is in such good shape. I wouldn't buy any other brand after having this truck. The gas mileage is low, but that was the range back in the 90's. It has hauled wood, trailers, boats and more without any problems and it hugs the snow bound roads in 4-wheel drive. It's a keeper.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Great styling, comfortable ride, reliable, low maintainence cost

Cons: Low gas milage

An Awesome Timeless Truck, Another Champ By Ford — I absolutely love my truck, it currently has 200,000 miles and still runs amazing, only issue is the gas mileage, which is expected for a truck an esp. with the straight 6 engine in it. That being said i can tow anything and never think twice about it. It's simply an awesome machine and definitely built Ford tough!

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Pure Power
Great Cargo Capacity
Smooth Ride

Cons: Gas Mileage

Best Truck — best truck i have owned never has given me any problems. just normal tires and brk pads. i have owned many cars and trucks over the years. but none as good as this one. i will keep this truck just to see how long i can go with out any problems. heck the factory battery lasted 10 years.

Pros: never had any problems. i have 155,000 miles

Cons: wish it had leather

If You Need A Truck To Last Forever Get This One — This truck fits my needs perfectly. Its easy to work on, and with 600lbs. Of sand she goes great in the snow. Its a stick so there is no costly tranny work in the future. I just wish it had a better radio.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros: Will run forever.

Cons: Gas.

Mid Nineties F150 With A Straight Six Is A Great Everyday Truck. — A truck is a truck and you get it for hauling stuff, towing things and taking it to the mountains fishing and hunting. You just have to make sure that the truck you have does what you need. This truck does what I need when I need it without fuss. I love my truck. Just because it has a 6 don't expect anything other than truck gas mileage.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros: This 96 was the last of the "flying brick" body style and I kinda like the retro truck look. My truck has the 4.9 ltr straight 6 with 5 speed manual. Taking a load of camping gear or a load of oak firewood it  will out climb my son -in laws newer V 8 F150. If you want torque for loads and mountain work the old in-line 6 is hard to beat. The Eddie Bauer edition has some dress up that makes it look a little nicer too. I actually get compliments on the appearance. It only has 82 k so it has hardly been broken in for a pick up. Normal repairs, new clutch, rear end work, shock upgrades, brakes, tune ups and oil changes.

Cons: Seating not as comfortable as modern trucks. This is a standard cab and I can't wear my cowboy hat inside. A cab should at least be big enough to wear your hat. Ford makes a center console that is a terrible design and however put in the automatic door lock, buzzer ignition lock out should have 100,000 years in purgatory with with their truck keys locked in the vehicle and the engine running. It's a truck, you are in and out of it all the time shouldn't have to worry about it automatically locking on you.

Reliable Truck — This truck gets you where you need to go. Does not have four-wheel drive. 5 speed. It is rusted in a few spots. Ignition is messed up so it can start without a key. Doesn't get great gas mileage, and is drove everyday.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Reliable

Cons: Not that good of Gas Mileage

Solid Work Horse — A good vehicle for moving a good amount of material from place to place. Plenty of power to tow a good sized trailer. Inexpensive and reliable, but when it does break down easy to work on. A solid work horse.

Primary Use: Utility (towing boats, transporting cargo, etc.)

Pros: Reliable and inexpensive

Cons: Fuel economy
