A Great Highway Cruiser. — We like this car for the specific purpose of being our two week vacation car. Holds all our junk and is easy to load and unload. Has had it's share of long trips and has been a trooper. Compared to the other Volvo's I've owned, this one is a bit of a disappointment. In no means is this a bad car, but considering how well our others have done, this one isn't up to par.

Pros: Tons of space inside.  A feeling of security - feels like you're in a vault.  Great Volvo turning radius.  Our perfect two week camping trip car!  Can go on mild dirt roads.  Has some nice luxury features like leather seats, power moonroof, power seats, multi CD changer, chrome wheels, etc.

Cons: Nimovat shocks stink!  Very expensive and they give the car sloppy handling.  Poor steering feedback.  AC has trouble keeping the freon in the system.  Seats are not comfortable (I owned a 242 and a 760 that was good and my 850 is great).  Leather is on the hard side.  Brakes are so so.  Engine is a little weak.  Gas mileage isn't very good.  Has had quite a few repairs (transmission position sensor, engine, radiator, shocks, etc).  I've owned many Volvo's in the past and this one has had too much trouble, compared to the others.

Fast Grocery Getter — built like a brick wall. this car has good acceleration, braking, handling. the car looks alright but it aint the best looking car around, it does what i need it to do. it is a good fixer upper and safe enough for anyone to drive

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Safe car to drive. good on gas mileage

Cons: Expensive to work on

You Feel Like Don Corleone Even If You're Mickey Mouse!!! — The most expensive Volvo in 95 must be an excelent car... and it is! Powerful engine, excelent brakes but lots of gas to be burned (about 15 liter each 100km). Very comfortable and the interior's acoustics is amazing... even the voices seems to be smoother! :) The driving is gentle but if you want to run, simply step on the gas pedal and it growls and flies. The handling is a bit constrained by the comfort, rolling too much. Well, it's a car designed to be comfortable and not a race car.

Primary Use: Family transportation

Pros: Smooth driving with plenty of power; Style and status; Excelent long trip partner

Cons: Consumption; Handling could be better; Takes too long to clean up :P

Reliable Tank :) — for being an older car it works great. granteed it needs some work because of its age, but besides that its never needed major work, just the general work.

Pros: its big, its solid, its a volvo so it will last, its a 6 cyl so it has some balls,

Cons: its a 6 cyl so gas mileage is not great. it has a 20 gal. tank so filling up takes a chunk out of my wallet. its old so it looks like a box.

A Great Smooth Ride In An Elegant Looking Volvo. — This car looks beautiful and runs very well. Like other Volvo's it can be pricey to fix. For its safety and spaciousness, it is worth it!

Another Great Volvo — It's a great car, other then it's a little square and old manish. But apparently was one of the best cars Volvo has ever made. Used to have built in telephone. Has leather. I put my own stereo in.

Pros: Runs good

Cons: The look
