My Dad used to own a GMC Jimmy. It was awesome! It had all-wheel drive, plenty of space in back, and was very strong. He said it was his 2nd favorite vehihicle. If you were looking for a compact SUV with lots of goodness, Get a GMC Jimmy.Apr 06, 2009

Got it with about 130,000mi, decent styling, ok highway gas mileage for an SUV. had good acceleration (was able to beat V8 powered GM trucks in race), worst investment of a vehicle- bought it with too many unknown problems, i have ever owned, decent handling, kind of fun to drive, Nov 30, 2008

I bought it a few years ago needing a vehicle that could haul stuff and get around in the winter. It does just that perfectly. I have had to replace the brake booster ($350), muffler and put new rubber on it but its pushing 172,000. It is just starting to show rust but the interior is almost flawless and it has a decent amount of trunk room. Nov 03, 2008

I like that my Jimmy is able to go over many different types of terrain and can handle the numerous challenges each one offers. The car has a fairly good appearce for a 95', white with black trim, and only has 77k miles on it. The only thing I dislike is the gas mileage for obvious reasons.Jul 23, 2008

Starter issue on my 95 GMC jimmy
I turn the key but the engine sounds frozen. I hear the starter want to engage but seems frozen like seized. I know it's not seized. I tried neutral too and nothing. I spun the crank shaft a little bit and it turned over and froze up again. Idk

Starter isn't ingaging intermittently.
We bought a new battery for our 1995 GMC Jimmy, and the next day the starter wouldn't engage. It sounded like the solenoid had gone out. I pulled the starter. It has a lifetime warranty. I took it to the parts store. They bench tested it and it passed. I replaced the solenoid connector, reinstalled the starter. It started fine. The next day I went to the store. When I left it started fine. When I went to leave the store, the starter wouldn't engage. I continued to try to get it to start. on my second attempt it started. Then today I was leaving my house and once again it wouldn't engage. I tried twice more and it started.
