Spark plug wires being changed and I can't get truck to start
I just replaced my spark plugs and am doing the wires I did them one at a time not to crosswire anything now I have a misfire truck won't start

The 1995 Dodge Dakota is little changed from the previous year. Offered as both a regular cab (112-inch or 124-inch wheelbase with either a 6.5-foot or 8-foot bed) or extended Club Cab (131-inch wheelbase with 6.5-foot bed), the Dodge Dakota was available in four trims: base, the WS work model, Sport, and the high-end SLT. All came standard with 2WD, with 4WD optional. The Sport model featured a roof bar with lights for off-roading adventures.
The most notable change for 1995 was a Sport version of the Club Cab. The engines remained the same: the relatively weak (for a pickup truck) 2.5-liter, 99-hp, the popular 3.9-liter, 175-hp, and the mopar-like 5.2-liter, 220-hp, V8, which blew all other pickups away. Five-speed manual came standard, with optional 4-speed automatic.
The mid-size Dakota not only moved and hauled like a full-size, it was also one of the few pickups on the market that was strong on safety. In 1995, it was still the first and one of the few to have driver's side airbags and anti-lock brakes.

I think that this is a nice truck. Has a good apperence including the bumper i styled to look like some fence since the guy i live with is a fencer he has scraps laying around and it turned out pretty cool. it has some pretty good space in the cab. Enough to have a ten inch sub each behind the seat and a 12 inch in the center. I am a little bit of a audio junky. But all in all these are great liitle trucks.Dec 16, 2014

it is a great truck to own. i love driving it. with a few mods you can unlock alot of power. it pulls by boat great. it has never broke down on me. i am gonna be buy another one, except a 1995 dodge dakota v8, 5 speed 4x4. camera broke. not my truck in pic but, mine is the same minus the lift.Oct 24, 2012

Performance - it has decent acceleration, great braking, and handles pretty well for an loder truck
Build Quality- The outside is steel, and the inside is plastic
Appearence- I really like the way the truck looks, and I want to make it better when I get money
Cost - I get between 17-20mpg which is really good for an older v-6 truck

Drove well fast or slow. Everything worked. I had to rebuild the tranny at 160,000. It was a beautiful truck. The downside is the terrible gas mileage. It's not that big of a truck so it shouldn't need so much fuel. Overall it was a great vehicle and very comfortable for the long haul.Mar 19, 2011

Good, long lasting, and reliable. This truck now has over 370,000 km's and is still running, if not a tad bit tired.
Only serious problems are rust troubles, and any general old age problems.
This truck has been able to do all our farm work, some landscaping, and a tad off-roading with no troubles.Apr 07, 2010

its a nice little pick-up truck its roomy and will go through the mud. the gas mileage is not that great but it could be worse. its not too big not too small and has a fair amount of power the appearance meets my every expectation in a truck.Mar 24, 2010

good engine very easy to find parts a few small problems & a really shody trany. paint isn't to great of quality doesn't hold up well. good quality interior. lots of horsepower and acceleration if not hauling anything brakes ok. not good on gas!!!Nov 28, 2009

It's a carbon copy of the Chevy s-10, but more fuel freindly, quicker,better handling with the power rack and steering, wider, and basic v8 performance from the 3.9 v6. It get's 15 mpg with a constant load.It's like drivin' a tuner car with a bed.It basicly looks like a 1987-1995 ford pickup.Overall, it's a great truck.Oct 04, 2009

I have the dodge Dakota 1995 V8 this truck will tow anything that you want it to. It is a very solid truck the only thing that i have had to replace is the radiator after 127K miles. It is a fun truck to drive it will get up and go when you need it to :). though i only get 15 MPG city on a good day. Aug 30, 2009

my dodge dakota has the 5.2 v8 engine. its lowered 2 inches and is on 255 50 17 bf goodrich g force t/a radials. it has the slt package with bucket seats and console. its not a race car but it gets down the road.. lol.Jul 26, 2009

It gets bad mileage. But it is built very well. I've launched it across highways and drivin thru ditches and it holds together very well. It's pretty fun to drive too. I would deffinately buy another as long as it had a V8. The V6 is great but the V8 would be betterMay 01, 2009

Could also zip and zoom around in.

Overall good truck. Not the fastest thing on block but will still do a brun out. It handles like a truck but dose stop very good. Its built very solid for its size. The transmission is a little odd, its easy to miss a gear while shifting up or down. Interior feels cheap but its a truck so who really cares. V8! 5.2 liter 318 magnum. all the power you need out of a mid-sized truck, and will put it all to the ground whenever requested. 4-wheel drive works great. engages every time and i've never gotten stuck. limited slip rearend helps the rears lock up to leave 2 nice lines of black rubber. handles great for a truck. no problem performing at high speedsSep 09, 2008

Overall small but enough power for the weekend hauler. Great for getting into those tight spots but still big enough to pull a load. Good handling but could use a little more on the suspension side for the offroading. The box is a good size for the weekend hunter or fisher but not really big enough for a good days work on the farm. Nice apperance to it but could use a better set of stock tires. 4WD can be a bugger to put in but once she's in she works well.

The dakota has been the standard that all other trucks in the midsize category try to follow. This is the 2nd generation of the dakota and one of my favorite body styles. The 3.9l doesn't offer much in the way of performance but this truck was an excellent point a to point b vehicle nonetheless.Jan 25, 2008

My 95 dakota has no low beam or high beam headlights. No horn no doorlocks no running lights park or brake lights...No instrument panel lights..Only turn signals Work front and back both sides. The radio and windows and interior dome light work.I have found that fuses 5,6,7,and 8 and 13 are good fuses but show no sign of power when touched on both sides with a test light. I have replaced the headlight switch, turning signal switch and checked all fuses. Checked all ground wire connections that i coul find...very frustrated and confused..trying to keep my cool....lol. any obvious answers?
