Not A Bad First Car But I Would Buy Something Else In The Future — I bought this car off of my mothers family for 8 bills (800 bucks). it was in somewhat rough condition but it ran. I should have turned away because it needed alot more work than i thought. It was a low mileage car (50k) but i was not expecting to have to redo my entire brake system ($350) and then have my timing belt replaced the following week due to it snapping( another $350). This was all after i put 150 on tires because it had 2 bald tires in the front. Luckily the family decided to help me with the repair costs and pay 500 bucks. The radio has issues with the wiring and needs to be completely redone ( not wanting to put 200 into this). But after i got all these things fixed she runs pretty good. I did a full tune up and ran a can of seafoam to dissolve any carbon deposit and did an oil change. The head gasket and motor block are in bad shape and i will need a new car in about a year or 2. (gasket leaks into cylinder chamber and i cannot change or repair it because the idiot that owned it prior to my moms family beat the hell out of it and the motor block cracked. Right now it runs fine but i have to put coolant in every 3-4 days. It does not overheat but has a leak so that it blows a small amount of white smoke on startup. Overall if I had a chance to buy something else i would have, Its not a bad car but I know now to really look for the little things when buying any used car, Don't drive it for 30 minutes say it runs and buy it. It gets me form point a-b around town but I say stay away from older hyundai cars. Most of them in 1986-1994 were abysmal and the 1995-2000 were very slightly improved.but still sucked

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Fuel economy, Lots of Cargo space (the back seats can fold down to add room to move things like couches, tv's or other furniture or equipment), Good amount of interior space (fits 4 comfortably) and has a descent look to it inside and out.
Good car for city and town driving

Cons: No power steering (not a huge issue this car is light and small so you wont notice it all that much after driving it but it takes a few days to get used to).
Not very powerful (takes a whopping 10-11 seconds to hit 60mph)
The automatic transmission sometimes will not fully engage into park and youll have to fiddle with the shifter to get it to start (Always use the e-brake when parked because on several occasions the shifter has slipped back into neutral soon after i  parked it).
Reliability has been known to be a concern with older hyundai vehicles prior to around 2001

Great For Daily Use But Not Really A Fun Ride — The car is really dependable, it will get you were you need to go but it's not a fun car to drive since it has virtually no power whatsoever. At least it's cheap on gas but the lack of air bags is a downer.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Dependable and cheap on gas

Cons: Not fun to drive... it has no power

Great For Anyone Struggling With The Ecconomy Downturn. — Great for a little city car, very cheap to run and low maintenance. Not the strongest build as it gets dented easily, though will run off the smell of an oily rag. It's far from a muscle car but fantastic if you just want something to get you from A to B.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Cheap and affordable

Cons: Ugly

1994 3dr Hatch — Although the brakes are a little worn by now, this is the car of many peoples dreams. She can go 300km's on half a tank, and beat most cars in a race, extremely fun with great handling and surprising space inside. Would recomend this to anyone that would treat it well.

Pros: Everything

Cons: Very Light

Best Second Car Ive Owned, although As I'm Getting Older I Need Something Wid More Grunt. — there was a time when i had major customization plans for my car,ive learned that when i drive it hard on a regular basis ,it needs work done to it on a more regular basis.still is a great car for me,cranking stereo, strong brake calipers, although the clutch has given me persistent problems, the engine has got balls, shame about the drive train thou, most recent problem ,is a fan belt issue that makes squeaking sound when i put the steering under pressure(lock to lock) when its reasonably cold,or after start up.

Pros: easy to park,excellent mileage,gutsy engine,cheaper parts

Cons: just a lil small for me,not as much balls as i'm wanting now.
