What are the differences between chev 6 lug 3/4 ton and 8 lug.
Own a 94 chev 6 lug 2500 truck. What am I missing on this truck compared to a 2500 8 lug HD. Frame, towing, drive train ext.

The bench seat lets the ladys slide right up next ta me.

Not the fastest or most powerful. Have invested in repairs about $3,000 worth to be exact. Rides nice though, I would rather have my previous F-250 in place of this though if I could afford the fuel of that ol big blockDec 07, 2009

It has over 200,000 miles and it's still going well, even all the electric gizmos work. Except for the dashboard, the truck feels much more substantial than my other car. This body style will be classic in a few years. Now that kids need a car seat until they graduate nowadays, not being able to open a door to the back makes this a less workable family vehicle than in years past.Jun 25, 2009

This is a very tough truck. I beat the crap out of it in all kinds of ways and its still running. But a lot of stupid little things go wrong with it that drive me crazy sometimes. Like alt, brake lines, fuel lines, oil lines, stuff just rotts away.Jan 11, 2009

Its a 6.5 TD ... not much to say accept it sucks fuel when i play with it and its only got about 190 hp and about 365 ft/lb torque ... 21 high mpg is nothing to complain about though. It is does continuely seem like it costs for money then its worth but what truck doesn't.Oct 20, 2008

Awesome truck, even better right after i totalled it and had 8 grand put back in to clean and fix it up. Had all the rust cut out of it and the box lined with herculiner. Whole front end had to be replaced. And with an added 2000 watt amp and 2 subs, blasting country is all i do.Aug 01, 2008

Trans issues
I have a issue with truck I just got changed filter and fluid and at first no forward it would just a little then nothing so after filter ran alright but at first had to manually shift it till it would get to fourth then run fine till I shut it off then have to do it all over again unless it got stuck in second then I'd have to shut it off and on again till it reset then once again manually shift it till 4 th an it would be fine a little shutter though 1, 2 but started coming out of it well tonight I found burnt ground on my horn in front so I just eliminated that horn wire and when I got in now have nothing forward I trying to trace ground wires for tranny and tranny computer but weres the computer and any ideas
