Fun, Cheap (relatively) And Unique. — Not a bad car at all, mine has the notorious H23 engine, which is the 2.3L non-VTEC motor put into the mid-level trim. The car had 160 hp from the factory and it's reasonably quicker than most cars of its age. Braking is good due to disk brakes all around and the steering is good. Only thing that's bad with the car is the motor. Had I bought one with a H22 engine I would have fewer problems. The H23 has had many issues and is soon going to die at less than 225k kms. Otherwise the drivetrain is solid, no squeaks or rattles or anything else wrong. Interior is great for the driver, great bucket seats that after 20 years are still firm and showing no signs of breaking down or wear. 4th Generation Preludes have the unique all-across dashboard which people will notice when they ride in your car. Exterior has quite a bit of rust but the car was never taken care of. Styling is quite nice, I like how these cars look a lot. Cost-wise repairs are cheap generally. If you have to source or order a part it can get pricey due to the car's age but the engine is big and easy to work on. Needs very little maintenance except oil changes. Only had one major breakdown in the car and that was a distributor needed to be changed around 200k kms. Car gets a little over 20 mpg, which is reasonable for the age. Hondas of the period are usually much more efficient but the Prelude was the premium sport model and has an engine almost twice the size of Civics or Accords. Car is fun to drive, still powerful enough to pass people and handles great.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Styling, Interior, Power

Cons: H23 Engine, Honda Rust, Burns Oil, A Little Overpriced

My First Car — This was my first car and kind of a beater. It had rust, the car shook a lot if you drove past 60 MPH, it had plenty of leaks, and other problems, but in spite of it all I loved it. It had a will to live I don't see in most people, it had its problems but it always gave it its all. What more could you ask for from a first car. Perfermance was good, pretty good acceleration, the car did shake when you started braking though. Repairs never got to expensive, new clamps on the battery, a few other things. The oil, and power steering fluid leaks were probably one of the reasons I got rid of it though. It didn't have bad looks, looked more like a remote controlled car to me. Didn't like the red paint as it was fading to a sorta pinkish shade. Interior was basic at best, pretty much no glove compartment. Gas milage was good, around 30 MPG.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Overall a great starter car, didn't have it much more then a year, but it got me from A to B and back again.

Cons: It had more leaks then the Titanic.

Looks Handling And Performance Streets Ahead Of Its Time. — This car lived with me for over 11 years and now I don't know why I sold it. It put a smile on my face for over 150,000 miles. I am not saying it was perfect. I had the usual ABS and 4WS issues that everyone gets but for out and out smile factor all you need to do is tip that rpm over 5500 and it growls. The wolf comes out and the day is good. It took a lot of that from me and that engine was still good when I sold her. Wish they still made them

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: VTEC! what more can you say for this car?

Cons: If you are scared of lights on your dashboard.

Great Car For Anyone Looking For A Car That Can Handle And Has A Good Amount Of Spee For Being Stock — I like everything about my car, the build quality for the engine is going to be good because it's a honda the interior of the car makes you feel like you're in a cockpit which is the greatest part of the car, it really shows of the brains that designed the car which are brilliant..

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: To challenge yourself in the turns..

Cons: nothing really sucks about it...

Great Car — Performance- great acceleration, somewhat decent braking, would handle well if it wasn't lowered and the roads in ohio didn't suck. Build Quality- motor swap due to previous owner dogging on it. Ball joints and control arms Apperance- Interior needs a cup holder and a center console and a bigger glove box Cost of ownership- takes 93 you guess the gas costs Fun Factor- I give it a 9 since it's a stick.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: It's a fun car to drive.

Cons: motor swaps and vacuum lines

Average — Not a bad car to own. Mine was a 2,0L. The weakest of the prelude line. Sure, it lacked power, but it had good handling and cornering capabilities. Overall , it's a good car. No technical errors. The main problem that it loves rust. Just like all older Hondas.

Pros: Good looks, handling, corbering

Cons: Rust, lack of power(with 2,0 engine).

1 Of The Best Value For Money Cars Out There — I love this Car! VTEC y0! good acceleration especially when vtec kicks in at 5k, brakes are not that great tho, and the handling is awesome 4WS is great for too, not just the handling but its great for parking too, the turning circles better than on the punto i think they look awesome too, 1 of the greats to come out of the 90's and the futuristic wrap around EL dash is soo cool and its got everything on it for a 93, Elec windows, sunroof, mirrors, cruise AC pretty good on fuel to with about 30mpg

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: VTEC y0!

Cons: none
