Unattractive Go Getter! — I really did love this car despite it's ugly boxy shape, and given that one of the cylinders died on me, that wasn't real great. But this little FWD car got me through a lot of snow and ice and I only recall getting stuck in heavy snows once! Given where I am from, this is awesome! This car ran great for years and I only got rid of it to save money for a down payment on a new car. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: This little red beastie got me through a lot of snow and ice in Canada. A cheap car that was economical to maintain and run, it was a great starter car. Cons: Well, 1 of the cylinders stopped firing, that kind of sucked. And it wasn't the prettiest car out there, but other than that, can't think of anything! ![]() Looking for a Used Cavalier in your area?CarGurus has 589 nationwide Cavalier listings starting at $2,900. |

Great Car — Great vehicle for someone's first car. Enjoyed it and missed it so much I bought a 2nd one to drive only in the spring and summer seasons. She wasn't too bad on gas, easy and fun to get into and drive. Pros: Great acceleration, fun to drive, overall styling, solid car Cons: Rusts up quick and hard to work on engine without taking apart |

Enjoyable — Great little car. 3.1 L V6 engine with 150 hp and lots of torque. The car had a glass rear window. At that time only one other convertible offer glass. Even a $60K Mercedes convertible had a cheap plastic piece in the convertible top. Transmissions 3 speed automatic was strong and simple. However I prefer the 5 speed manual. Interior had bucket seats. Trunk large enough for two golf bags. Drop the top a the traffic light and take off. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Simply fun Cons: If you are worried about your hair. |

It's Cheap, Weak, Fun, And Ugly. Buy It If You Can, But Aim For Higher. — In 9 months I put on over 25,000 kilometres before the engine seized up in an A&W parking lot. The second time a car of mine had died in that parking lot. Considering what I had put it through - and that I had only paid 900 for it - it was a great car. I'd recommend it for first time buyers. Oh and the visibility in that car is excellent due to the narrow pillars (although that might affect safety.) Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: It's cheap and fun Cons: It's weak and ugly |

Affordable And Dependable — it has 200000 on it and still running strong with only the normal maintainance needed, still gets around 30 mpg and holding up well, it has never left me on the road side with a problem and i have been able to do 95% of the maintainence. Pros: go economy, low cost, and still good external appearance Cons: because you don't like old cars with high miles |

Awsome Starter Car — Thing would drive through anything, it would start eventhough half of it was fubar'd, looked real ugly zipped tied front bumper, couldnt lock doors in winter. Gas milage was approx 550km per 70L, Extremely easy to do repairs on. Exterior was horrid, interior was decent basic Pros: was a tank Cons: grandma mobile |

Cavalier — I could literally beat the crap out of this car, and it would still run... not a problem after beating it. Definitely the best car I have every owned. Too bad it was poorly taken care of before I had it. I had to sell the poor thing because the body was in very poor shape. Pros: Ran great! Got me where I needed to go! It was a VERY fun car to play around in! Cons: The person who had the car before me, let it sit for seven years so there was a lot of work to do. And I had to sell the car because the body was in very poor condition. |

Cute+sporty+power=chick Magnet — This car has the get-up-and-go of some of the V8 cars I have driven. Though it isn't in the best shape, it is still loads of fun. Because it is a convertible there are the usual rattles and some leaks from the upper hood cowl. Typical of these cars for ages. Still is a great car. Has no problem getting the ladies! Pros: Good power, MPG, CONVERTIBLE!!! Cons: Leaks, rattles, scratched. |
