Great Car. I Love It. I Get Compliments All The Time. — Great car. Comfortable as can be with lots of smart, convenient features. Big, roomy bench seats front and back. Power everything. Sadly, it is old, gets poor mileage, only has driver airbag and is slowly falling apart! I'll miss the Burgundy Bomber once we replace it! Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Comfy, different, great tail gate features, big. Cons: Gas mileage and out-of-date safety features ![]() Looking for a Used Custom Cruiser in your area?CarGurus has thousands of nationwide listings and the tools to find you a great deal. |

Last Rwd Oldsmobile (sort Of) — The last rear-wheel-drive Oldsmobile passenger car was the 1991-92 Custom Cruiser (technically, the Bravada holds that honor, but it was a truck and try to find one equipped without AWD - I dare you). These were very low volume cars. This one is painted light camel beige over dark camel beige and was offered in this color only in 1991. The car seats 8 and features a rear facing third seat as well as the glass vista roof (curse you Ford for stealing that name for the Edge's roof!). This car is not quick, as the hp rating a meager 170 hp out of the 305 cid Chevy V8, but is no dog either as it has sufficient torque. Cars with the base rear-axle ratio get great mileage (I had one that got over 26 mpg) but this one struggles to get 24 because of the towing package. Still, it looks elegant and rides great. It can be pushed too, as long as you don't mind a bit of roll and tire squeal. Pros: 4x8 sheets of plywood fit in the back. Take all your friends with you. Low center of gravity. Cons: So-so fuel consumption. They don't build them any more. |
