I have a 1991 d21 4 cylinder 5-speed four-wheel drive I blew the transmission I cannot find a four-wheel drive transmission but there are two- wheel drive transmissions available could I pull one of the two-wheel drive transmissions and convert it with the parts I have into a four-wheel drive transmission

Idles fine checked timing,distributor so many times that a wire broke and replaced all. Counted 42 teeth outside to outside TC. TDC is perfect. I’m at a loss!! I thought this would be a breeze after the 2002 4.7 Tundra TB. When Nissan is put in gear it dies. I keep thinking the top end might be shot but I have never tackled something like that. Need advise before I tow it to an expert mechanic.
