Best overall car,EVER. I am 84 and have had cars ranging from my other, current car, a VW Phaeton(Bentley), Jag Mk 5, 7, XKE, Rolls, Caddys, AH Sprites; you name it and this one tops 'em all. I have had this since new ('91) and have only had routine items (tires, brakes, battery). If the size suits you, buy it. You can't go wrong.May 21, 2012

Due to it's age, parts are hard to find. The alternator is buried UNDERNEATH the intake manifold so you'll have to remove the left drive axle to change the alternator (What moron designed it THS way?), Repair requires a Specialist shop. Braking is poor, the pedal is always spongy. The electrical system is a stinkin joke, sometimes works right - sometimes not. The body rusts too easily, the stock paint sucks. Word to the Wise: STAY AWAY FROM these 90's Hondas/Acuras. Too much of a hassle always fixing them.Oct 07, 2011

This car is fantastic on gas, and hauls butt too. I regularly blow the doors off higher priced sports cars. BUT, there are a few problems with this year. 1 is the "guillotine" like automatic shoulder belts. Who had the bright idea for that? Another is the lack of a center arm rest. And no cup holders? What moron forgot that? Anyways, the other problem is the fuse panel, there's an integrated circuit box located right behind the fuse panel - you have to pull out the fuse panel to get at it - this circuit was built using sub-standard capacitors that are under-voltage, when they over heat, they leach out their electrolyte, which crosses other circuits and cause all kinds of electrical problems. The ONLY fix is to replace ALL OF THE CAPACITORS to 35+ volt caps. If you buy a replacement fuse panel, guess what(?), it still uses the same old crappy capacitors. The last complaint is that the door windows are frameless, which means you can't add those wind deflectors to your windows. Other than that, it's a really fun car to drive.Jun 11, 2011

Performance- Acceleration is Great, Pulls HARD, shift smoothly. Breaking is very good as well! Handling rocks, corners at 100+ are easy!
No squeaks or rattles, other than exhaust9which is my fault)
Appearance is great, love the style, and craftsmanship
Cheap on gas, maintenance is cheap, and sparse as well!

One of my two favorite cars to drive...that I have been able to. Performs very well. Modifications helped because of course the car has gotten old. Has needed a lot of repairs in the last year. Handles and accelerates good, good on gas, looks nice, easy to upgrade,
sounds nice stock, braking was very week, high insurance for two door,
easy to maintain. All in all it was a fun car to drive, just wish the frame

Performance of the car is pretty standard for a early 90's car but its still a very fun car to drive. The handling can be greatly improved with just some minor suspension modifications same with the brakes but its nice that they come with 4 wheel disc brakes.
The build quality of the cars are great as long as you take care of it. As with all honda/acura's they tend to rust in the wheel wells if you don't have rust protector or just keep it clean.
The appearance is really in the eye of the beholder but to me they are a nice looking car from all angles and i was glad to have this as my first car.
Gas mileage on the car was really good i would get 500-600 kms to a tank which is a 45 liter tank. Apr 02, 2010

this car is actually the japanese model XSI from Japan. It is right hand drive and performs like a pro. Obviously a "few" aftermarket parts help. It has decent gas mileage but can still provide the power you desire. Being a Honda it doesnt need much work even though it is kinda old. So with the parts selection of today if something breaks replace it with the perfromance part (sometimes cheaper ex:shocks)Sep 29, 2009

This is a car that has never given me any major problems. I've driven it 170,000 up to 230,000 miles now and it just keeps humming along. Good highway gas mileage. It has its fair share of rattles and quirks, but that is to be expected on a car this old. Feb 27, 2009

Greatest all-around car ever (I'm 81 and have owned over
25 cars and raced everything from Cisitalias to Jags). Fun
to drive. Great first car. If you have a light foot, it gets
over 32mpg highway. Only fault with this car is the
sunroof drains exhaust in the rear fender wells, causing
irreparable jungle rot in the wheel well arch. I hope they

This car holds 6-1/2" components in the front doors if you make an adapter plate. The engine is weak, but I still hit 117. The rotors glow orange if you do too many 60-0 stops. Overall, nice little car.Dec 11, 2008

Acceptable performance. It it light and well balanced, with moderately good acceleration.
The best thing is it has been nearly trouble free with now over 230K miles, 90 a day 5 days a week for the last 8 years. It gets 33 mileage per gallon, I think with most new cars have fewer mpg, odd isn't it? Nov 27, 2008

The great thing about this car is that it saves you a lot of gas while having fun driving it, and it is strong solid car for it's age compared to other car;Great stock engine and everything. But the bad thing about it is that the engine have too much kilometers and it have rust all over the body!

Just bought this car this year. There have been a few minor kinks to works out but i absolutely love it. It gets great gas mileage and still is going strong even though it has over 200,000 miles one it. Does anyone know where the dipstick is located to refill transmission fluid on a 1991 acura integra gs?
Bought the car from a private owner, failed to ask where the transmission fluid is and i see a yellow dip stick handle between the distributor cap and the air filter(well that general area anyway), but not sure if that's what its for! Did not come with a manual. Please help, need to change or check so can keep up with. Want to cut back on expenses if its something i can take care of myself. (Chick Car)
