The Bestest Tiny Hoopty You'll Ever Own — She was 17 when I purchased her from my mechanic in 2007; best used car I've ever had, and I'll keep her til the wheels fall off, and she can't go no more. And I'll do my best to keep her in repair! She still runs, but her 4th gear and torque box are going out. (264,000 miles, who wouldn't have issues!) She has the "Sport-Drive" feature, which means I can "force" her to stay in third gear or lower, til I can get her fixed up again, but now I can't go on the highway. So she's local driving only. She's tiny, which is scary at times, with all the bigger vehicles blocking my view, and her seats were sporty when she was made, but uncomfortable at best now, because of age. I drive her now about once a week, to keep her battery and the gas in her tank running like they should. I don't want to hurt her worse than she is right now. My hope is to get her to my brother-in-law, a retired mechanic, who has promised me, and owes me. She has other issues, and he's going to help me with those. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Has held up great through the years, can't believe Acura stopped making this vehicle. Mostly low-maintenance; repairs have now most recently included new front-end cv boots, cv joints, and axle assemblies, keeping her on the road for more years to come! I think Acura stopped making it, because of the durability: people weren't buying new cars if they had this, and missed it if they sold it. Cons: Hard to find used parts, and a bit pricey to purchase new. And some parts are not original replacement from the manufacturer anymore, so quality might be off. |

If You Can Find One In Good Shape, Get It. — Loved, loved, loved this car. From the performance to styling to handling, this was the perfect car for me at the time. It ran a stock 16 sec at the track weekly, and still got me around Chicago and then LA when needed. Never wanted to let go of it. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Everything Cons: Letting it go. |

90 Da Teggy — B16a swap loads of fun. Instead of going with a turbo i opted for suspension upgrades, handles great with skunk 2 coilovers. Ls tranny, so its not as quick as most hondas but 5th gear goes well past 145mph. from being lowered so much theres some squeaks and the stereo is crap but when your at wot you can hear it anyway. =) Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: i built it. Cons: only comes with arm rests in Japan. =( |

Still Worth A Look If You're Strapped For Cash. — This car was fun to drive, but like most high-mileage Hondas, it had its fair share of problems as well. There's nothing more finicky than a high-mileage Honda. That being said, it still got relatively good mileage (when using premium gas). There's a ton of aftermarket parts and engines for these things, so they're still worth having a look at if you're strapped for cash. Just be aware that they definitely require regular maintenance attention. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Relatively quick, tons of aftermarket/tuner parts Cons: Every 17 year old kid thinks his is a race car |

I Loved It. — I loved that car. Quality was top notch. From Honda I expected nothing less. The 130 HP 4 cyl was plenty of power for normal use, and while I did see 100 mph once, it was not at it's limit. The styling was sleek and attractive. I didn't care much for the texture of the seat upholstery fabric, it was rough, though the seat construction was comfortable and easily adjustable. I think it got 30 mpg hwy. Neither the back seat head or legroom was not generous. I had my best date ever in that car, with the girl of my dreams. I drove us up to Turner Falls from Dallas, where we had a picnic by the river. On the way back, she fell asleep with her head in my lap. She still has beautiful, long blond hair, but she married another guy. Sigh. At least I believe she's happy. I have a 2000 Accord, which has similar driving characteristics. They're great cars. Primary Use: Commuting to work Pros: Looked great, drove great a nice package all-around Cons: If you often carry around more than 2 people it's not roomy enough. |
