1989 Acura Integra Review

1989 Integra LS. The first car I owned. It was a toss up between this, a 1987 Corolla GTS, and a 1989 CRX Si. I still regret not getting the GTS (AE86). Ah well, you live and learn.
Handling Ranked 1995 Honda Civic better.
"They actually handled about the same, but the Civic was easier to upgrade due to the Integra having a rear torsion bar setup (not as many aftermarket options)"
Family Car Ranked 1995 Honda Civic worse.
"It was actually about the same. The integra drove a bit smoother though"

Reliable Little Bullet — This is a seriously reliable car. I've been driving it for 9 years and rarely have problems. When I do have problems it's a pretty cheap fix, and there are plenty of parts in stores. Hard to get an infant in and out of the back seat but I can always count on it getting us where we need to go. Very easy to drive and fast. I've driven this car across country and used it as a daily commuter. Reliable and amazing ride, especially for a 25 year old car!

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Always starts, fast, great fuel economy, easy to drive

Cons: Not infant friendly

Awesome — It excellerates quickly, handles great, and gets 30 mpg's. However it's interior is lacking intrest do to it being 20+ years old. It is a really fun car to drive. great for road trips or for a race. overall it's a great car to have.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: It's quick and fun.

Cons: it's kinda old

Great Daily Driver For The Time — Performance was good for the time but is lacking for today's standards. Braking was ok but it was a well balanced good handling car. When kept up in the revs the car was at stride and a joy to drive although not sports car fast.

Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.)

Pros: Overachiever!

Cons: From a time period of low hp

Very Dependable And Practical Car — Loved this car too. Very, VERY practical. Tons of interior space and good gas mileage. Ran forever. Probably still out there running circles around an '05 Focus. Very dependable 1.6L 4cyl. Mine was a gem. Traded it for a new Integra sedan.

Pros: Lots

Cons: None

1989 Acura Integra — i dont like that the car is a front wheel drive. it has the power to drift but its just not possible in a front wheel drive. i also dont like how the flip up lights are so square. it makes the car look boxey compared to all the other models

Pros: sun roof, standered, hatchback

Cons: back end is flat and front wheel drive

Damn, Wish I Still Had That Car — I bought this car with 151000 miles on it and sold it with just a little over 200K. It was still going strong and I did very little work to it since the previous owner took immaculate care of it. I replaced the clutch, battery, tires, and I had it painted due to the harsh job the sun did on this great black car. The acceleration wasn't that great, but since it only weighed about 2400 lbs., it wasn't too bad. 30mpg in the city was common, and 38mpg was about the norm on the highway.

Pros: reliability

Cons: rear visibility
