This Car Was Built Ahead Of Its Time. The Sprint Like The Vw Bug Is Loved By Creative People. — Just bought '88 sprint coupe. Has been idle for 8 years. PUT NEW BATTERY AND FUEL PUMP IN. Started right up. Having fun tweaking air, lights, plugs, the little things. 139K real good body and very easy to work on. All original thoughout. Bought for $150 spent $87 on parts. Worth its weight in gold. It's a 5-speed, with upgraded radio. Front wheel drive adds to handling and safety. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: mpg 45-60 , very quick, very utilitariun Cons: none so far ![]() Looking for a Used Sprint in your area?CarGurus has 1 nationwide Sprint listings and the tools to find you a great deal. |

Awesome First Car. It Was Mine. — This car turned heads.. Some called it ugly. I called it quick. My "Pocket Rocket." Everyone found it impressive that I could take on Nissans and Acuras in races with a 1.0 Liter, 3-cylinder engine. And win. Not very big, easy to fix, good for a single guy, but not a family car. Finding 12-inch wheel covers was not easy. 28-33 mpg. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: Fun, fast, easy to park. Cons: If you have a wife or kids, avoid it... |

Easy To Work On, But Ain't Going To Get You Any Babes. — these cars are super small with little engines. getting one with a manual transmission is preferred as it'll add fun to the drive. Gas mileage can be between 30 and 40 mpg on a good tune. Ain't the pretties, but good for a young person with little cash. Pros: cheap on gas. easy to work on. Cons: hard to get tires for. |

Way Back When, Had One, Loved It. Looking For Another Now. — Some revies said, they are noisy? Naw Some say they are small and uncomfortable. 6'2" glides in and out of them. MPG...unbelieveable. Comfort was lambasted by reviewers. In context for what you paid, pretty damn comfortable to me. Owner for 8 years, 0 months Miles Driven per Year:24,000 Pros: Compared to todays hybrids? Its laughable, the sprints get as much mpg if not more for oh so little money! Cons: None, unless you nitpick. |
