Awesome Car, A No-brainer — I bought mine on Jan 8th 2010 with 147k for $700! Drove it from Vancouver to Whistler and back the night i bought it with no maint, very reliable. Auto trans seems to still be good. It's pretty pimped out for a Toyota, very impressed. Gas mileage is ok, not as good as Corolla/Tercel/Civic but good enough. Doesn't appear to leak any oil. It has pretty good power once you get the revs up. Trunk had water in it when I bought it, but doesn't seem to leak that much now. Rear suspension is riding low but still works. There's a bit of rust around driver's side wheel wells but not much elsewhere. Everything (except cruise control so far) still works and has been a sweet ride so far. Here's to many miles of fun... Pros: good mileage, comfy ride, poor man's cadillac Cons: automatic, rust, needed exhaust work |

Classic That Would Last For A Couple Of More Years. — Quick acceleration for a 4 cylinder. Handling is easy and the ride is smooth. I like how the sunroof automatically closes upon locking the doors. Older model so major maintenance is required. Still a good looking car. Good gas mileage (4 cylinder). Quality interior materials; nothing feels cheap. Pros: Good gas mileage and fun to drive Cons: Older car...bound for repair. |

Just Bought A Used One With 102,165 On The Odometer!!! — I recently bought this used car at only 102,165 miles on the odometer, I know unbelievable!!!. I had a corolla before and it ran like the energizer bunny, every positive thing said about the Toyota is true to a fault. I will buy a repair manual for it - for light-weight maintenance. In this day of $4.00/gal (yes it is down for now). This sure beats any gas guzzler. jing714@gmail.com Pros: Very reliable, econmical, inexpensive (somewhat) to maintain. Cons: None, thank you. |

Simply The Best — This was my first car and it was the best car of its kind back then. I retired the car in 2002 with over 400K miles on it, great performance for 4 cylinder, very low maintenance, same transmission throughout, very few problems over the years in repairs. Paint job was great still was shiny and minimal scratches to the paint when I donated the car to a shelter...yes it was still operating. Loved it! Pros: Very low mintenance, great gas mileage Cons: Absolutely none with this car, it was great |

You Can't Kill A Toyota, I Know People That Have Tried! — The car has a good history, except when my Mom owned it and I took care of those issues other than cosmetic. The performance I rated was based on what it is worth, age, etc. Compared to a Corvette it sucks. It still can do 65 mph in 2nd gear. The car still runs after 233k. The car is older than I am! I can afford to get a newer car, but I am know it won't be as reliable, and on a newer Toyota I won't know its history. The appearance isn't great, but I don't care.
Pros:
It is still running after 233k! Cons: This car is old and never was a meant for speed, so it gets made fun of. |

Just Got It Out Of The Shop — Had the car 3 months.Has only 148,000 mile on it. The previous owner put new belts, wires, and hoses. Apparently he forgot to change the timing belt. lol. I did, and the water pump. Now it runs as great as it did before and I hope to get alot more miles out of it, because it is a pleasure to drive.
