Good Car To Learn Driving In. — First car I learnt driving in. Made with tin cans, so its light as hell. Engine is small and so is the output power, but with such a light body, this car is rather spritely. Handling isn't fantastic, but it will get you from point A to B without much fuss. Since its small, parking isn't much hassle. Gets quite good fuel economy despite the age.

Pros: Nothing much

Cons: Nothing much

I Love My Car <3 — This car is amazing to drive. Good on gas, I get about 35 mpg. When I brake, the car has a tendency to lurch forward a little bit. I love the shape of the car; 80s style for the win. The interior kinda sucks, but I just got new paint. It's Chrysler deep water blue with some green pearl. It isn't all that great at accelerating. It's really sensitive when you steer though. This year it's 26, but still going strong. I had to get the alternator and battery replaced, as well as the brakes. I replaced the radiator, fuel filter and pump, and windshield wipers just because.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Drift drift~

Cons: They're old, probably have a few problems

Awesome Car — Performance is great still have to drop car and stiffen up suspension. Build Quality is good despite a few rattles and squeaks . Love the look of this car and it's Exclusivity very rare car. low on maintenance and is a lovely all round car,fun to drive on ...the open road and in town. Gets a bit thirsty if you keep racing the engine but otherwise very light on fuel

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Exlusivity, Fun to drive and it's a Toyota

Cons: Parts is scarce

Ae86 "gtsr5" — Perhaps one of the most fan boy backed old school cars on the road today. Mines was originally an SR5 converted to GTS motor, with the stock SR5 rear end (totally crap). lightweight, easily tossible car with lots of potential to defeat cars that are much more modern on a track. parts aplenty, great local parts support from local ae86 forums (dori kaze) cheap to mod, cheap to run/ insure, easy to fix, great car to teach people to work on cars. very reliable car for daily driving, yet fun enough to terrorize drift courses during weekend.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: free breathing, rev happy 4AG 16V motor, reliable car overall, simple construction, great community backing, great car to learn how to drift, rare car with strong street presence

Cons: rust, lack of power, prehistoric rear suspension layout, limited slip commonly sourced aftermarket only

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: Space and Performance

Cons: hard to find parts

A Must Have For Someone On A Tightish Budget — Performance is average, but i like it! Build quality is very good a little rust as to be expected. Appearance is boxy, but again, i like it. Has cost me next to nothing to run, It is very fun to drive.

Primary Use: Commuting to work

Pros: VERY RELIABLE

Cons: Needs a paint job

Old And Slow, But Still A Whole Lot To Love —

This will be an incredibly biased review, so I'm just gonna keep it simple and use their bulleted suggestion list! Performance Really, it should say, "Performance, or Lack There of!" The handling is just incredible for what was an economy car in its hey-day. Body roll is minimal, until you really push it hard, and the suspension strikes a good blend of ride quality and performance. However, that could be attributed to the age and wear on the car, and not necessarily the design of the suspension; but in any case, its a good quality! But for as impressive as the handling is, the engine is a huge let down. Power is barely, and I mean just barely adequate for around-town driving. It is nearly impossible to do any type of merging without flooring the car and keeping it in second gear until the engine starts screaming around 5 or 6k RPMs. And even then, acceleration is glacial. I swear icebergs move faster than this car sometimes! The one bright side to this is, the exhaust note (with the Flowmaster muffler that is) is quite enjoyable throughout the rev-range, so wringing the motor out is music to my somewhat tainted ears. Also, the gearbox has a nice, mechanical feel that makes it a pleasure to row through. Build Quality For a car that is 25 years old already, with over 160k miles on the odometer, the entire package has held up extremely well. Some bits of the interior are starting to become fragile (like the dash pad) but most of that can be attributed to sun damage and just normal wear and tear. The seats have no rips at all, all gauges function as they should, the vent controls all work flawlessly and even the mechanism on the passenger's seat that allows you to get into the back seat of the car works as it should. 75% of the car is completely original (the other 25% being the paint, wheels, muffler and body work). Even the anemic engine fires up even on the coldest of mornings without much complaint. (to be continued)

Pros: Nimble Handling, cheap to own and run, easy to do maitenance on, Fun-to-drive factor, Rarity factor, surprisingly practical

Cons: Slow, squeaks and rattles over rough pavement, lack of a Limited Slip Differential, did I mention slow?

Old Toyotas Can Still Work Fine. — Looked like hell, three of the windows were hard to use, scary to drive on an interstate, had a "pulse-wave" shudder at high speed... But I loved that little car. For a first car, it did its job just fine. And, last I heard, it was still on the road.

Pros: Small, reliable.

Cons: When buying from a garage sale, you get what you pay for.

Our Baby Blue Corolla — This was our second car. Our first one was too small to travel any distance in. This had a good stereo and a clean interior. We drove the living daylights out of this car in the two years we owned it. It was quite tired when we bought our new car to replace it.

Pros: great mileage

Cons: no ac
