I have a 1984 ford f250 6.9l idi 4 speed with 4x4. It was used as a farm truck and has never been registered i wanted to make it an overland camping vehicle was wondering what diesel engine i could swap into it her and if anyone knows what front in rear axles I could swap in that are disc brakes instead of drum. If anyone could let me know that would be much appreciated
I have a 1984 Ford F250 4x4 with the Windsor 5.8 liter. Its only got 78000 miles so its sat a lot of its life. I have changed everything I know to replace and have had the carb rebuilt. It will crank (sometimes it can be hard to start) and it will sit and idle but when you go to take it down the road it wants to quit especially when you make a turn. Ive had mechanics attempt to fix it but they leave scratching their head and tell me the only thing they know to do is for me to buy a new carb. Anyone else experience this and how did you fix it.
i did a oil change and the oil level was right then drove to the store and back and then after the motor cooled down i checked the oil again and it had to much oil in it. WHY?
I have an 84 f250 6.9 diesel and I tried to start it and heard a pop. The fuse blew for the starter, so I put a new one in and tried to start it again. There was another pop. After tho more fuses I decided to open the hood and look for the problem. The worst I seen was a bare spot on a fusible link I patched it with some electrical tape and tried again. It blew another fuse, so I tried hot wiring it from the starter solenoid and it started fine. If you have any ideas please let me know. Thanks!
Fuel pumps not working worked one day next day no fuel from either tank why would both pumps fail at same. time
