Love It — any RX fan should make a point to travel back and drive an SA. everything is smooth about this car. launch, hard acceleration, braking, cornering, styling, just everything. i loved the experience and am looking forward to having it again. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: the smoothness Cons: its not mine |

I Love Her, She's My Baby Through And Through. — She performs, still hits those high revs like its nothing. I can spin through 2nd. The cornering ability of this vehicle is also not be underestimated or messed around with. If you can corner well, she can go around a corner as fast if not faster then any stock competition, 240s, 300's, supras, etc. She's built fairly well, I tend to break alot of bolts and whatnot, but it is a 83, things break and weakin over that kind of time. Still greats though, fresh cherry red paint job. She's not the cheapest car to drive though, I've done a lot of work to keep her on the road, but its all been fun. She's just to fun to let go. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: FUN. Fun to drive, fun to work on. Cons: Things break that shouldn't ever break, and its hard to find parts. |

Gives The More Expensive Sports Car Line Up A Run For Their Money. — 1st generation Mazda RX-7's where way before their time. Bold look with economy car fuel mileage and super car performance the RX-7 is a drivers car. High quality materials and workmanship go into the RX-7. Every screw, bolt, accessory and window is placed for a purpose and that purpose is to offer performance with the minimal loss of vehicle dynamics. 50/50 weight distribution, low curb weight, great suspension set up and aerodynamic body make a car that not only looks like a race car, but perform like one as well. Although the 1.1L Rotary engine does not have much torque, the low curb weight and carefully picked gear ratio and high rpm horsepower still make this car a quick and fast contender to european supercars. Mazda is the quiet car guru in the corner, not saying much but when they do say it, every word is thought out carefully. Durability way above expectations, although with very few moving parts, the Rotary engine does have flaws that require some knowledge of upkeep, car savvy people will find that despite the added upkeep that engine still provides a long lifetime if carefully maintained. Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: FUN! EXCITING! A true drivers car. Cons: Although they are very durable, not a very good first car because of the extra upkeep needed. |

A+ — as far as looking at it, since it doesnt have the TII swap in it yet, the suspension is solid, with the swap it will easily be a 12 second car. only isssues with it is the tendency to oversteer. its a very good car for autox too! Primary Use: Sport/fun (spirited driving, track racing, off-roading, etc.) Pros: looks, suspension, power. Cons: apex seals. |

Affordable Sports Car... — performance is crappy only 100 some hp thus the v8 build quality- very stiff chassis for its age appearance- cheese wedge design that looks classic fun factor- is a great handling car that can stick to the roads like fuzz to a lint roller;) Pros: its a classic thats rare these days Cons: small |

Rx7 Series 2 1983 — For a 1983 model car I can still give most drivers a decent run for there money. Through windy roads of course, for straight line acceleration this car is not so quick. I have a custom exhaust, gilmer drive system, thermo fans instead of clutch fan, extend port 12a, extractors, 4.77 diff, front strut brace, koni suspension all round, king springs sport low etc etc. I love this car and all other rotary engined cars. You can rev the crap out of them so long as you treat them correctly and nothing will go wrong. The only thing that has failed so far is the water pump which I replaced myself easily. As far as looks go it's down to personal preference. This car is not economical, it chews the gas/petrol. This is mainly down to the modifications I have done though. It's great fun to drive anywhere, but especially on a track or through windy roads. Pros: Everything Cons: petrol consumption, needs to be maintained properly, |

Rotary Rocket — There's nothing funner than telling a guy with a big V8 that he just got dusted by a n/a car with only 70 cubic inches of displacement. I may get taken off the line but I will catch up and pass you in the turns. While you are shifting I'm just getting into my power band. Pros: Vibration-free power up to 9k rpm. Awesome sound from the Weber DCOE and Racing Beat exhaust. Cornering capability is unreal. 2200 lbs empty. Will walk on n/a 2nd gen RX-7's all day long. Cons: Was a little tail-happy before I got wider wheels and upgraded the suspension. Less torque than a piston engine, but makes up for it in hp with revs. |

Finally Braking And Handling To Match The Engine — Good handling, steering a little dead and too much play, but great gearbox, good performance, better economy, awesome sound. Feelgood car
Pros:
Handling, sound, styling inside and out, very reliable and robust. Motor
Cons:
Fuel consumption, rear seat comfort, lots of exhaust noise from poorly |
