1982 Volkswagen Jetta STDReview
It Is What It Is — I absolutely hate the auto transmission. I feel like everyone is pointing at me while I drive down the road. It has a horrible start/idle/overheating issue which no one seems to be able to address. I never thought I'd live to see the day when I hated an MK1 Jetta but this one wins the prize.
Primary Use: Commuting to work
Pros: its an MK1 - I love the look and the drivability of this model VW. This I've had many 84 Jettas, this is the first 82 and the first auto trans. When healthy it owns the road. Could accelerate better but makes up for it afterwards! Great handling.
Cons: automatic transmission, starting /idle /overheating issues
