how do I get fuel to my carb?
1981 bronco 300 straight 6 with a one barrel carb, fuel pump looks new and won't pump fuel to the carb but the truck will run only when I continuously sprey starting fluid in the carb.

Maybe they were tired, but after Ford restyled the Bronco in 1980 they had a light year in 1981. They did add auto-locking hubs, which was nice for safety and stability, but that's about it.

once i have it finished it will be a top notch ride for spending 300$ it has been really reliable and for being a 355 series not running strong it was pretty good on fuel actually took this one mud boggingOct 19, 2011

*performance- its a beast
*build quality- strong, of course it needs repairs... its almost 30 years old.
*appearance- love the styling, could use some new stuff
*cost of ownership- affordble to buy, expensive to drive... its a gas guzzler, but i have plans to fix that when i have money to

I have a 1981 Ford Bronco with a 351M which is basically a 400 Big Block with 351 windsor heads on it. it hauls like no other and is four wheel drive which is awesome but also has a very heavy duty grill guard on it and it is cool, we call it Horseplay Jun 18, 2009

1981 Ford Bronco XLT Ranger. was free to me and never ran. would have been a great project truck but didn't have time or money at the time of ownership. i ended up scrapping it for $150Jan 05, 2008

Ford bronco gas mileage?
I have a 1981 ford bronco I brought back from the grave. It is a 300 Straight 6. I was wondering if I should get a newer more efficient carb or stick with original carb that came with it? The carb is rebuilt I need to tune timing and carb and check on breaks for one thing. Other then the carb another hunints?

Can I find the axle sizes and gears with the VIN? I am guessing the rear is 8.8? or 9"? Front not sure Dana 35? It is a 1981 300 straight six 4spd granny gear. Anything?
