Reviewing: 2007 Honda Element 2 Dr EX 4X4

my 2007 element EX AWD-- Named "Will"  Purchased him in August 2007 at Northwest
Honda in Bellingham WA.

the back seats are completely removable/ or can fold to the side for added storage space.
All the seats fold back to make a twin bed.

Amazing support at www.elementownersclub.com

Next mod:  Element PVC Bed frame for a full sized air mattress for camping season!

Pros — head turner, reliable, configurable, best car for what ever life throws at you
Cons — black gets dirty fast!!  Would like to have the 12 volt adapter to be always "on" even if the
engine is shut off

Reviewing: 2007 Honda Element 2 Dr EX

May look ugly on the outside, but it's a virtual swiss army knife in terms of versatility and interior space.

Pros — Rubber flooring, storage bins, interior room, water-resistant seatings, 7 speaker stereo, new dashboard lighting, AUX input, Ipod cable, the list goes on and on!
Cons — no moonroof included on EX 2x4

Reviewing: 2007 Honda Element 2 Dr EX 4X4

I love my Element!  We were looking for a smaller SUV than the Nissan Xterra, of which I'd owned 2 in 7 years.  I loved that truck, too...it had been my dream car from the moment they came into being.  But, the times, they are a-changin', and it was time to get into something a little more economical.  We tried out Toyota RAV4, the Mazda CX7, the Subaru Forester and Outback, and several others in that size range.  Nothing really jumped out.  I was leaning towards the Subaru, but really couldn't commit.  Then we went to the Honda lot, and the saleman went to show us a CRV.  It looked just the same as all the others, and I said so.  He said he thought I might like the Element.  I laughed and said it looked like a box on wheels, and I didn't spare the line of them a second glance.  He finally persuaded me to just sit in one.  I sat in the passenger side...I wasn't even going to get behind the wheel for a look. Meanwhile, he is showing my husband all the 64 ways the seats can go, and this, and that, and I really didn't listen until he started talking about how easy it was to clean the inside.  Meanwhile, I found myself really liking the dashboard and the legroom, and the headroom.  The next thing I know, he's sticking keys in my hand and we went for a drive.  I loved it!  I especially was wowed by the sound system.  It has a built-in subwoofer! I like the whole vehicle.  After we bought it, and I drove it more, I began to find things I didn't like, but they don't bother so much anymore, most of the time.  Blind spots are a biggie...it has worse front ones than the Xterra did.  I realize they need to have heavy posts for safety, but these are heavy-duty!  However, the side window in the door is so big that it helps compensate.  There are pretty good blind spots in the back, too, but I have always been adept at using the side mirrors and these don't bother me like the front ones did.  The car (truck?) is a snap to clean up.  I can't haul as much as I did in the Xterra, but it's not a problem.  I have two dogs and I like the ease of clean-up with the seats and no carpet.  Road noise is a little more than the Xterra had, but if you play the stereo loud enough, you don't notice.  I did have a couple of squeaks develop rather quickly in the dash...something that never happened in either Xterra.  Again, radio loud = no problem.  Handling, it is nifty and quick with an amazing turning radius that is very handy in parking lots.  Now it isn't as good on gas as a smaller SUV would have been, but it is better than the Xterra, and having smaller tires is nicer, too, when the time to replace them comes around.  If you want to do some serious, or even semi-serious 4-wheeling, this rig is not for you.  And, it may not suit some families...it only seats 4, and it's suicide-style doors aren't so handy sometimes.  Especially for the adults in the back wanting to get out, you have to wait for the front doors to be opened.  (which could be nice for kids...allows parents time to get out before they can)  And the back windows only pop open.  And I think the sunroof should have a shade door to close, so if you do have kids back there, they won't get roasted or sunburned.  But, all in all, I love it.

Pros — Handling, cleanability, sound system, fun factor, climate control, dashboard and controls.
Cons — blind spots, sunroof w/o sliding cover, pop-open back windows
