The Base Pontiac Grand Prix 3.8L series III is not bad as most would think. THe fact is that the car gets flack as an under dog in the mod world. in fact Pontiac engines are so rare to find in its older ancestors (before 78') that pontiac just breeds rarity and thats why they are my favorite cars. Its so great to see the look on a honda/ ford owners face when i smoke them as at 120 miles per hour on the free way. its a great feeling.
Pros:
Handling, speed, cold air, easy mod.
Cons:
Traction control never shuts off, car weight.

With this car, even the base model is really fast. I think that they tried too hard to make it perform good though, and didnt spend enough time on the interior. It has really good pickup for example if I'm gonna pass someone, and im going say 50 when i start to pass, by the time I get back over, I'm going 90 easily without even noticing.
Pros:
Very good pickup, looks awesome, good control at high speeds.
Cons:
Plastic dash, overall not too impressed with the interior.

It was a great car, no mechanical problems except for the brakes. Performance wise, this car is a champ, it kept up there with the Audi's could show off a bit leaving black marks, but it wasn't too out of control. Only downsides, is that the base model doesn't have ABS or Traction control, but oh well, and the interior looked nice, but felt cheap, like a plastic dash.
Pros:
acceleration, gas mileage (averaged 30s on trips)
Cons:
interior, and the fact that they dont make them anymore!

Acceleration from this series III motor is awesome. Beyond what I expected from a V6. Could do better with the MPG though.

Nice looking but the hard lines of the front lights do not fit the curves of the rest of the car. Needs to sit lower to have muscular stance. Nice power and handling for base car. Great amount of room inside. Fantastic gas mileage for being 3.8 litres, comparable to the Subaru 2.5 but 2x the power and more room.
Pros:
Great service record and cheap to operate
Cons:
Too many like it up here, go south and it's rare.

Has 212,000 miles and that alone speaks about how good this car is built. still runs like a top and looks good and does so quickly!! Cheap to drive minus premium gas, and has had just a problem or two, but I really do love it and will own it till the day it dies... NOT SOON!

acceleration is good handles good too. I have owned it for a year and a half and not had to do anything but oil changes and wipers. Love the way the car looks and the inside. gas suck but i do drive like a maniac. All in all I just have to say that I love my car. I won't get rid of it unless i get a G8 GT

The car worked great, I got my license when it has 17,000 miles and two winters worth of Michigan weather on it. It functioned great for the 11 months I got to drive it, and I absolutely loved its performance and looks. A great daily driver for performance and was well worth its cost.

this car i love alot. i have twins and have room for them and me. i am 6'ft and 300 pounds. alot of room in it. also easy to work on. parts are easy to get. love this car
