I wish I knew more mechanical things to do more or most of the
work required to get the car to its potential. I've owned the car
since 1995 & have only had it to 2 car shows due to a non-
working brake booster that should of been replaced when all the
brake work was done & for some reason it wasn't replaced. It
has acceleration just no brakes other than low gear & the
emergency brake, the handling in the front will need new
suspension up front as the leaf springs in the back have been
replaced with new leaf springs. It needs to be restored & its not
a parts car. Just wish the economy could support these old cars
because once they are gone they are not coming back. This car
has no gas mileage. The maintenance is costly. Its a lot of fun
to drive would be more fun to drive if I could get it to stop
otherwise its surely turns heads for sure & the only car I've ever
owned without seat belts, something 56 years old you wouldn't
think would have power steering, power brakes, power seat or
power windows & yet still have 4 cig lighters/ash trays & no seat
belts or air bags. I hope whomever gets this car restores it to
its stock appearance & stature. Otherwise I would dislike it a lot
if this car ends up in the scrap yard it would break my heart to
see it there as that is where I found the 1956 Cadillac Eldorado
with vinyl top, autronic eye, gold sabre wheels, batwing air
cleaner & dual 4s.Jun 20, 2012

I like the fact that it didn't require seatbelts to drive, power steering, power
windows, power seat, just wish the power brake booster was working properly I'd
be driving it right now back & forth to work on the weekends. CyaJun 13, 2012

No performance this car was driven by an 82yr old lady who
used to drive it to Turtle Lake, WI to play bingo at the casino.
An AMERICAN MADE 56yr old car-the valve cover gaskets
replaced, the gas line was replaced due to someone or some
how the gas line was twisted off at this car show so unsure as
to how it happened so I replaced it. I've done all the oil changes
& radiator flushes since I've owned it. My Uncle helped me a lot
with the brake jobs as he also did on other cars I've driven over
the years he's still missed & he passed away shortly after
Thanksgiving 2008 same weekend another Uncle passed away.
Valve Cover Gaskets replaced by Dan Strong & myself. Jim
Nordberg also helped me with this car along with Phil
Hammond. Aaron Apel helped me with the gas lines, wheel
bearings, & springs. Needs body work. The interior is all
original except the shifter knob is now broken since it rolled off
the trailer in Cadott, WI back to storage. Ash Trays have been
pulled as all 4 lighters have been misplaced & all the ash trays
have been pulled to distract others that I knew from high school
thinking that they could smoke in my old car they were wrong.
Exterior styling is all there just its rusting out in places because
its in WI & unsure if it's ever been driven in the salt. Good gas
mileage yeah right for a 3000lb car with a V8 & a 4-barrel. it's
not too bad if you only drive it 50 miles per year. A brake
booster needs to be replaced which I've been finding out $700
was lowest price for a replacement brake booster so as far as a
fun car to drive would be better if the brake booster worked.
Back in 2000 I thought the $800 & several 72hr work weeks
went to replacing all the brake lines & I thought the Brake
Booster was part of the deal in getting the brakes fixed but I was
wrong, it wasn't. It would be more fun to drive as then I'd be
able to go to more car shows with it just due to no brake
booster.Jan 08, 2012
